Just like that July has come and gone – I swear I blink and a week passes me by! Here are just a few of the many things which I have #LikedandLoved throughout the past month.
The Summer Holidays
The summer has finally arrived! Whilst I love routine, I also love throwing it out of the window and living for the moment, which is precisely what we plan to do for the next six weeks. We began our holidays by heading into town to do a little shopping. To our surprise, there just so happened to be a classic motor show taking place which was a fabulous start to the summer.
The Teachers Award
I was one super proud parent during this year’s presentations assembly as E was given a teachers award! She is such a little star, such a clever little cat and I love her to the moon and back.
The Book Award
J never fails to surprise me, he is such a hard-working, thoughtful, caring little boy and this showed as he was presented with a book award during this year’s presentations ceremony. I cannot express how proud I was of bot him and his sister, it was a double-celebration!
New On Netflix
Television has finally touched down for the summer as ‘Orange Is The New Black‘ released season seven and ‘Workin Moms‘ released season two onto Netflix. This should certainly keep me entertained over summer although I cannot tell you how tempted I am to do binge-watch the lot!
Gary Meikle
Earlier this month Paul and I made our way up the M6 to watch Gary Meikle in Carlisle. I’ve followed Gary ever since his rant upon eyebrows went viral on youtube and am a big fan! Not only did we get to watch Gary in action but we were super lucky to meet the man himself!
Beach Days
With the weather being a little warmer, we’ve spent a fair amount of time at the beach, not only as a family but also during work/ school time! Fresh air and sunshine are great for the body, soul and the mind!
Marvelous Massages
Following finishing for the summer, I decided to book myself in for a lengthy massage with my good friend Amber. What better way to celebrate than to relax?
New Trainers
I’ve needed new trainers for a while now but wasn’t really willing to part with mega amounts of money for the pleasure. Payday came and I caved, I am so glad I did as I’ve never worn such comfortable shoes! I’ve always worn Skechers but have never worn the ‘D Lites’ range before, let me assure you that these babies as like walking on clouds!
The Game Boy
We promised J that should he save his pennies, we would allow him to buy his very own Nintendo Switch console. As it turned out, he had already saved more than enough to buy said console and earlier this week we took him to town to collect his console, he has since been an incredibly happy little chappy!
End of Term
To celebrate the end of what felt like a never-ending term, I shared a few bubbles with a bestie. It was really nice to sit, to chat and to evaluate the year gone by. Here’s to a summer filled with smiles, sangria (well maybe Uzo in our case), sea, sand, and s…? SLEEP!
