Though I usually list my top ten things that I’ve #LikedandLoved throughout the month, this past month has been difficult thus I’ve had to downsize somewhat and will therefore document my five favourite moments.
Fabulous Fireworks
Having armed ourselves with wooly hats, gloves, scarves, wellies, and obligatory sparklers, we took the kids to not just one but two awesome fireworks displays this year. There’s nothing quite like wrapping up warm and watching the sky light up with sparkles, pops, and bangs.
A Snip Away
Though my husband has his hair cut regularly, the kids and I don’t tend to bother all that often especially since J is now sporting the grunge look with his longer locks. This month we managed to get all three of us booked in for a trim and tidy up at our local hairdressing salon. It felt good to have some of the length and weight snipped away at last.
Perfect Progress
E blew us all away with yet another perfect parent’s evening – she is working so hard and I really couldn’t be prouder! Not only is she excelling in school but I’m also rather impressed by her dedication and effort with her extracurricular activities at home, including her newfound love, playing the flute.
Celebrating 105 Years
Paul’s amazing Nana M turned the grand age of 105 earlier this month. Her house was filled with family to celebrate the event and her mantle was adorned with gifts and cards, including her second card from the palace featuring the newly crowned King and Queen.
The Dickensian Festival
We took the kids to the local Dickensian Festival last weekend – this is an annual event that is incredibly popular and the kids look forward to each and every year. This year, however, it was utterly rammed with people – I’ve never seen it as busy! The kids had great fun looking around the stalls, riding the various attractions, and tucking into the festive food for the afternoon.
