#LittleLoves – Little Princesses, Lego & Lunch Box Madness

And just like that another week has flown by! I’m sure as hell that time speeds up as we get older because it feels as if I’ve barely slept since last Friday. Mind you saying that I haven’t really slept very well at all this week with E having caught the latest bug doing the rounds.

Thankfully E seems to be on the mend now but following a week sharing a bed with an octopus, I am still in Zombie mode so bear with me as I try to pull together a few #LittleLoves to share with you.

Read

I’ve barely had time to fart this week never mind read a book! I have of course continued as always to read to the children before they settle to sleep each night. E currently seems to be rather taken with Tony Ross’s ‘Little Princess’ series which I swear having read most of the collection must have been the inspiration behind Peppa Pig.

The Little Princess should have been named ‘The Little Madam’ as she is completely self centered, stubborn, bolshy, demanding and quite simply put, the stereotypical toddler which of course being one herself, E loves to hear all about.

We have read almost all of the collection now and no doubt will be repeating these stories for years to come. Here’s hoping she remains to be a fan of The Little Princess as come ‘World Book Day’ next year the costume of a simple white dress and yellow crown should be a cinch!

Watched

Given that E has been feeling under the weather we have spent a fair amount of time watching movies whilst snuggled under blankets on the sofa. E’s current movie of choice seems to be ‘The Trolls Movie’ which I can’t argue is a great film despite featuring a gang of  glitter guffing goons.

The soundtrack itself is enough to keep us adults entertained along with the hidden adult humour which always goes down well with us parents.

Heard

Whether it’s having extra airplay or has somehow stuck in my audio-loop, Clean Bandit’s ‘Rockabye’ featuring Sean Paul & Anne-Marie seems to be the tune of the week.

Both Paul and I have found ourselves bopping along to this little number, it might not be to our usual taste but it’s flipping catchy let me tell you!

Made

Following two random extended Nursery sessions which included lunch last week, E has demanded on eating dinner from her Frozen lunch box ever since.

I don’t mind at all as rather than the usual picky eating and grazing, she suddenly seems to have an appetite and will happily eat the contents of her Frozen lunch box without fuss. It’s a win-win situation but it does feel rather odd packing her a lunch box which she then eats at the table in the kitchen rather than from a plate. Hey ho, whatever works right?

Wore

With the weather suffering from a bout of bipolar I’m also suffering a terrible wardrobe malfunction. The shorter-sleeved tops have come in to play for those rare sunshine moments along with the chunky cardigans to prevent possible frostbite when the winter weather reappears moments later.

Add hormones into the mix and I’m beginning to understand what ‘the change’ may actually feel like. Seriously one minute I’m wrapping up warm and the next I’m stripping off in a sweat!

And Lastly

There may have been moments when I wished I could click my shoes together and fly away to a tropical island for some peace and quiet during this week but there have also been some golden moments which I have treasured.

J brought home an award chart that shows just how well he is getting on at school. I was then informed of how well he is also getting on outside of school in his swimming lessons. It’s such a joy to hear praise for our little man. I am so proud of him and cannot believe how quickly he is growing up.

Meanwhile, E has discovered the joy of Lego, she received her first ‘Frozen’ Lego set this evening from her Grandparents and has since sat for hours playing and building with her Lego like a pro. She may only be three-years-old but our little lady is such a creative little soul.

Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that you enjoyed this weeks #LittleLoves. If you fancy sharing some of your own #LittleLoves then why not join in either through your own blog post or by leaving a comment below, I would love to hear what your #LittleLoves might be.

Oh we’re in the fussy eater phase with my eldest. But yes, pick your battles definite!! I’m all for an easy life. I’ve not seen Trolls yet but looks great!! The soundtrack is ace!

Moose does the lunchbag at home thing too! Give the kid a sandwich on a plate and it will get picked apart and moaned about before ultimately being dumped in the bin. Pack it in a lunchbag and he snarfles it all in double quick time.
Go figure.

The weather really has been all over the place this week hasn’t it. We actually had our first bbq one day and then the next heat full wack on high. It’s craziness. that is adorable that she wants her dinner from her lunch box all week. I love it. How awesome is Trolls? I think it’s the new Frozen. We loved it. Hope you are having a great weekend. #littleloves

I still have not watched Trolls, though my daughter went with her friends. I really need to see it as I have heard so many good things about it. Boo to bugs. I have had my daughter off school today with a virus x

Love that she wants to eat out of her lunch box at the table! Whatever works I say.
We adore Trolls too, I don’t think a week goes by that it’s not been watched in our house at least once! xx
