Welcome to this month’s #LittleLoves post, part of a monthly blog-linky series celebrating the positive points throughout the months gone by. Feel free to join in by commenting below or sharing your own LittleLoves via your blog or social media channel.
March has been the month of change in this household as I started a new job, J sat his Mock GCSE examinations and evening revision classes, E joined an orchestra, and Paul’s been adjusting to a quieter life now that I’m no longer working from home. Without any further waffle, here are my LittleLoves for the past few weeks.
Read
Given that I’m now working full time, I’ve had to cut my reading back a little as there are only so many hours in a day. Still, I managed to bag a copy of Laurie Gilmore’s latest release, ‘ The Strawberry Pancake House‘. I loved it so much that less than twenty-four hours later I was having to scour the Kindle Store for further books. I’ve since started reading Wild Love, another Elsie Silver romance which has already got me well and truly hooked.
Watched
March has been busy, but we’ve still made time for some television here and there. J and I completed watching the final series of Benidorm together, and we are now looking into a week in the sunshine later this year. Paul and I have also completed series two of The White Lotus, and we’re now midway through season three – it’s been an interesting watch, but the music tends to lead you in completely the wrong direction at times. We’ve also been watching Prime’s latest series of ‘Last One Laughing‘ and I must say this has got to be one of the best game shows I’ve seen in some time!
Heard
Whilst I spend most of my days listening to Heart Radio on an endless loop whilst working, I tend to avoid the airwaves when I’m at home as it can get a little repetitive. I’ve recently been listening to ‘Nothing But Thieves‘ and Paul and I enjoyed watching a couple of their live gigs via YouTube. I’m hoping that we can go and see them play live sometime in the future.
Made
As I mentioned above, I have recently started a new role and to make things feel a little more comfortable, I’ve personalised my desk area with some pretty pink accessories. I would love to add a pink keyboard and desk mat like I have at home, but I think that might be overkill.
Wore
I’ve spent the past month adjusting to wearing a uniform – it’s been twenty years or more since I last had to wear a uniform! I’ve made it my own by switching black work pants for comfortable, stretchy, black yoga pants, adding a long-sleeved jersey layer under my t-shirt, and keeping snug with a casual black fleece.
My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By
- March has been a real month of transformation and change, especially on a personal level with starting my new role. I will, however, say that I’m quite proud of myself for ‘going with the flow’ and giving something new a try.
- Our daughter E has been learning the flute for just over a year now and recently joined a local orchestra. I was half expecting her to watch, listen then find herself overwhelmed by the idea. However, she shocked the pants off us all as she picked up her flute, stood alongside the forty or so other orchestra players and gave it her all. I couldn’t have been prouder and I can’t wait to see her play in concert in a couple of months.
- Our son J has had an extremely busy month as he completed his catering practical exam and then sat his Mock GCSE examinations. He’s since been attending a series of after-school revision sessions and is working his socks off in preparation for his upcoming examinations in the summer term. I’m so proud of him, he’s such an amazing young man!
Thanks for reading my #LittleLoves post, I look forward to catching up and reading through your #LittleLoves posts

It’s great the kids are doing so well and that looks like a pretty comfy uniform for you. I’ve not heard of the band but will check out….Sounds like a great month.
