Welcome to this month’s #LittleLoves post, part of a ‘good feel’ blog series sharing the positive points from each month. You are more than welcome to tag along by sharing your posts or adding comments below.
February may have been the shortest month of the year but it’s been the most action-packed for us as we’ve squeezed plenty into the past twenty-whatever days. Without any further waffle (unless it’s of the Stroop variety) here’s my #LittleLoves from February 2025.
Read
Thanks to Kindle Unlimited, I’ve managed to get through an entire series of books by Elsie Silver. The Chesnut Springs series consists of five books including Flawless, Heartless, Powerless, Reckless, and Hopeless. Whilst I’m not a huge fan of cowboy romance, I must say I enjoyed each and every one of these books as they were easy reading ideal for relaxing with a blanket and a brew.
Watched
Like most forty-something females, I took a trip to the cinema earlier this month to watch Bridget Jones’s Mad About The Boy. Given that I had already read the books, I was well aware of the storyline and thus packed plenty of tissues for the inevitable. I had expected to cry, I hadn’t however prepared to spend the entirety of the film sobbing like a wreck. Be warned, this film isn’t for the weak-hearted!
Along with Bridget, I’ve also enjoyed watching the return of Gogglebox, Gladiators, and of course, the latest episodes of Eastenders celebrating their forty years of screen-time.
Heard
Made
Needless to say, Paul and I made a whole heap of memories in Amsterdam celebrating twenty years together. I only wish I could rewind a week or so and do it all over again! Everything about the trip was simply perfect from start to finish, especially the Stroopwaffles and hot chocolates which I consumed far, far too many of whilst wandering around the city.
Wore
If you think that it’s cold here in the UK, think again. Even with it being February, Amsterdam was far colder than I had expected. Thankfully the markets were well-equipped with scarves, gloves, hats, and these gorgeous fluffy ear-muffs which were a necessity. Following my six euro purchase, I spent almost every second wrapped up in these fluffy little monsters.
And Lastly… My Top Three Moments From The Month Gone By
1. Twenty Years Together
We celebrated our twentieth Valentine’s Day together and in turn, our twentieth anniversary as a couple. I cannot believe that it’s been twenty years since Paul took me out to see some trashy horror movie called ‘Creep’. Thankfully we’ve watched far better films since then…
2. Culture Vultures
As part of our celebrations, we took a trip (the first one for many many years without children!) over to Amsterdam where we spent three days soaking up the sights of the city, including numerous museums where we spent hours appreciating incredible art from the masters. Amsterdam is rich in its art and I found myself immersed in Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Monet, Banksy, Warhol, Hirst, Mondrien, Picasso, Kandinsky and more whilst mosying around the many museums.
3. Purple Pinkies
Before our travels, I topped up my talons with a pretty shade of purple. I adore this colour and suspect it may become my ‘go-to’ from now on.
Thanks for reading my #LittleLoves post, I hope that I haven’t bored you senseless with the tales from my travels. I look forward to catching up and reading through your #LittleLoves posts

I’ve not heard that song – I love your trip had a soundtrack. Congratulations and happy anniversary. Twenty years is a lot – you realise you can’t remember ‘before’ …. Love all that you got up to, esp the art.
