#LittleLoves – Everything Seems To Be Changing

It’s been a funny old week really, everything around me seems to be changing and nothing feels ‘normal’ as such. Give it time and I am sure that I will adjust, until then I will ride the waves as best as I can.

There’s so much in life to love and to be thankful for, recent events have certainly taught me that. With that in mind here are my #LittleLoves for this week.

Read

With J having returned to school this week, the reading books have made a come back. J and I have been reacquainted with the good old ‘Biff, Chip and Kipper‘ and I have been reminded just how much I love listening to my little man read.

I’m fairly certain that J finds reading to be more of a chore than a pleasure but I can see that he tries his best. They say practice makes perfect and let me tell you, J has come on leaps and bounds in his reading ability this year.

 

Watched

As many of you are probably already aware, Cold Feet returned to our screens this week. I love a bit of James Nesbitt and so setup series link recording to ensure that I didn’t miss a moment!

I used to love watching Cold Feet back in the day and wasn’t entirely sure whether this new series could live up to its predecessors. After watching only one episode I can fully assure you that Cold Feet is as good as ever!

 

Heard

Paul and I lost a dear family friend, a teacher, a master and in our eyes a legend this week. We said our Goodbyes to Stuart this morning at a rather sad but beautiful service and upon leaving one particular song was played.

I have always associated ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ with ‘Rocky’ but from now on will always remember Stuart whenever I hear this track. He will be sorely missed but will forever remain in our hearts.

Made

In all honesty this week has been pretty much all about Stuart, he was a massive part of our lives and to commemorate his passing I made and decorated a cake which featured his red belt for the design.

I don’t feel that it’s right to share any pictures of said cake on my blog but as it is literally the only thing that I have physically made this week I guess it deserves a mention.

Wore

The weather is a bit here nor there really, some days its roasting hot and others it’s brass monkeys. My sandals were put away for next year and two days later were back out by the front door. My clothes have followed suit, I’ve spent most days wearing short-sleeved tops with a cardigan to be sure that I am neither hot nor cold.

And Lastly

It seems like forever and day that I have wanted a ‘Welsh Dresser’, after years of trying to figure out how the hell we’d ever fit anything of the kind into such a small corner, we finally found the perfect dresser at the perfect price.

I am totally in love with my new unit, it fits everything in perfectly and looks the biz! It’s amazing how much one piece of furniture can change an entire room.
