Comfortably bright weather ensures a great garden event. However, some mistakes could potentially wreak havoc on your plans. For example, due to COVID restrictions in the UK, you cannot hold outdoor or garden parties for more than 30 people. That said, you should avoid major mistakes, some of which are discussed in this article. In case you wish to know what these are, please read to the end.

Inadequate food and beverage

4 Outdoor Entertainment Mistakes to Avoid

Admittedly, it is pretty challenging to get it right when planning such events as you can never be too sure how many people will come. Unless your event is strictly by invitation, there is always a possibility of food and beverage shortage. The trick to resolving this problem is ensuring there is a little extra for guests who may show up suddenly and most likely uninvited.

In some instances, your guests may turn up with one or two tagalongs, which you cannot turn away. However, you can address these inconveniences by making your event strictly by invitation. Once that is well-communicated, hardly would you experience food or beverage shortage.

Not providing insect repellent

Garden events might witness an insect infestation, which you should be prepared for. You don’t want to see your guests swatting insects away from their bodies, food, or drinks. Therefore, you must be proactive by supplying insect spray repellents that guests can use. However, did you know that some people have allergies to insect repellants?
This is a significant concern to address as you prepare for your garden party.

You can always provide a safer alternative for this category of people. For example, place orange peels in fire-resistant containers at vantage points of the garden and light them. As the peels burn, they release chemicals known to repel mosquitoes and other insects. Moreover, it’ll make your garden smell good. Another natural alternative is to burn sage or rosemary close by, and you will be thankful that you did.

Absence of a first aid kit

Accidents can happen unexpectedly, making it imperative to have a first aid kit. It is especially crucial when kids are invited to your outdoor event. Although parents and guardians will try to keep their little ones safe from harm, you will be a well-prepared host.

Being an insensitive neighbour

4 Outdoor Entertainment Mistakes to Avoid

Some people organise outdoor parties without considering their neighbours. Loud music speakers, haphazard parking, loud conversations are a few examples of insensitive behaviours to avoid. The worst is allowing the outdoor event to go beyond legal hours, subsequently becoming a nuisance to those who live close. To avoid this, you must first determine what times are legally permissible before holding your event. Furthermore, ensure that vehicle parking is rightly done to avoid unfriendly encounters with your neighbours.

Your outdoor party can be organised depending on the measures and actions taken before it’s held. Moreover, remember that your event will most likely be remembered for mistakes committed instead of the good. Therefore, you need to avoid these mistakes for a memorable party experience.
