Whilst our gorgeous little girl was once all about everything pretty and pink and had a beautiful ‘Barbie-pink’ bedroom with matching IKEA furnishings and a glittery pink carpet, she’s matured somewhat over the past few years and as a result has been begging for her bedroom to be redecorated.
Now that she’s nine, E has lost interest in bunnies, Barbie, and Bratz. These days she much prefers the likes of Harry Potter, Hocus Pocus, and Wednesday Addams thus fancied a macabre makeover when it came to renovating her room. Having painted over all the pink creating alternating maroon and gold walls, we then added some stylish IKEA storage, and a range of Harry Potter-themed wall art, furnishings, and accessories including a rather nifty ‘Nine and Three-Quarters Nightlight‘.
Lumos – Let There Be Light!
Sent to us by Celestialia, the Nine and Three-Quarters Nightlight comes with a solid metal wall mounting bracket and all the screws and plugs required to fit this correctly to the wall. This gothic-style black metal wall bracket features multiple suspension points allowing the nightlight to be hung in a variety of directions.
Measuring 26 x 22 x 7cm, the nine-and-three-quarters night light is made from plastic and requires two AAA batteries (these are not included). Though I had originally expected the nightlight to be double-sided, this is not the case as the on/off switch and battery encasement are to the back of the light. Still, this nifty little nightlight is the perfect accessory to add a ‘little lumos’ to any young wizard or witches’ room.
Keep A Note of It
Alongside the nightlight, Celestialia sent us a curious little calendar that doubles up to be an ornamental set of Harry Potter-themed notelets.
This is no ordinary notepad, however, as the ‘Magical Moments At Hogwarts Castle Notepad’ is actually a collectible, ornamental, treasure as it features an LED light, calendar dates, a pen holder, and notelets that are stacked as a building block to eventually create a stunning scene which will have all Potter-potty-peeps waving their wands with glee.
Arriving in a perspex case, this calendar/ notelet block can be displayed in a variety of ways and at present, my daughter has decided to use her Magical Moments Notepad as a calendar block.

‘Revelio’
After spending quite some time painting, refurnishing, recarpeting, and redecorating E’s room, we finally revealed the finished result to her earlier this week and she was, as expected, delighted with her new decor, especially the awesome accessories which were very kindly sent to us by Celestialia. It’s so often the little things that make the biggest difference!

Oh I love that colour combination of maroon and gold. I love the nightlight too, even though I’m not a HP fan I still think the design is lovely. I hope little E really enjoys her new bedroom, it look great. x
