Not only is today Good Friday (or ‘Lucky Friday’ as my seven-year-old daughter calls it) it is also my husband’s thirty-eighth birthday. Though we are still living in lockdown, we’ve made the most of the new rules and the wonderful weather as over the past hour or two we’ve had a few family members pop by and pay us a visit. Though it’s still a little chilly, the sun is shining and it’s been great to get together in the garden on Paul’s special day. It’s been so lovely to actually see people for real rather than having to video-chat …
Birthdays
2021 is a big year for our family as three of our parents have turned 65 this year and today it’s my Mum’s turn! Though I know that Mum isn’t entirely happy nor comfortable with the idea of being in her sixties, nevermind having to celebrate the mid-way point of turning ’65’. To celebrate, I decorated the house with bunting, a large helium balloon, and birthday decor. I then made Mum a ‘high tea’ alongside a cake fit for a queen. Though I love writing and have always enjoyed having a blog, it makes it all the better when I receive feedback and support from readers, friends, family, and other bloggers. …
I can barely believe that it’s been three years since our beloved basset hound Maisy came about. They do say that time flies when you are having fun and she’s most certainly full of fun amongst other things! So there we have it, our precious puppy is now a dog and a threenager at …
Today would have been my Father’s 65th birthday, though sadly he’s no longer here to celebrate with us. Thus, we’ve respectfully marked the occasion by taking a beautiful bouquet of flowers to his grave, by sitting and sharing a roast dinner and a glass or two of wine around the table, and finally by lighting and twirling sparklers together as a family to show our respects and to send our best wishes starwards. Happy Birthday Dad – We miss you so much
