Not only is today Good Friday (or ‘Lucky Friday’ as my seven-year-old daughter calls it) it is also my husband’s thirty-eighth birthday.
Though we are still living in lockdown, we’ve made the most of the new rules and the wonderful weather as over the past hour or two we’ve had a few family members pop by and pay us a visit. Though it’s still a little chilly, the sun is shining and it’s been great to get together in the garden on Paul’s special day. It’s been so lovely to actually see people for real rather than having to video-chat via the likes of Facetime, what a refreshing change!
Paul’s been spoilt rotten with cards and gifts galore, he’s been given the Calvin & Hobbes special edition collection, a pair of funky flip-flops, a brand new fit-bit (which is a replacement and upgrade for the one which he was given for Christmas which sadly broke), and boxes full of beer, wine, and spirits to slurp.
My husband isn’t the easiest bloke to buy for (given that he’s one of those guys who’s got everything) though I managed to find some rather useful gift ideas for men on UK Gifts.
All in all, I’d say that he’s having a pretty good day so far, and we are yet to enjoy a triple-take-away as I’ve ordered a Chinese, an Indian, and a chippy to accommodate everyone’s preferences.
On that note, I really ought to tidy the house ready for my Mum’s visit later and to go grab some cash (from the hole in the wall) to pay for all the calories that we are yet to consume. I hope that you are all staying safe and having a GOOD FRIDAY!
