Getting Into A Decent Routine

Things seem to be looking up, I feel a whole lot better generally and I think it’s all down to getting into a decent routine.

I have to admit that I was dreading E starting nursery as I worried that I would feel lonely each morning without her company, in reality the past three days have been great! I’ve managed to get a crap load of jobs done each morning that I would never have managed to get done whilst looking after a threenager.

Getting Into A Decent Routine

It’s reassuring to know that E is being kept busy and no doubt having uggins of fun whilst I get all the usual household chores done and dusted.  Now that all the jobs get done whilst E’s out it leaves us loads of time to spend together in the afternoon without any distractions.

I love being able to fully focus myself on E for a few hours before the school pickup and so far I feel that this new routine is suiting me pretty well.

It’s only 11am and already I have:

  • Got the kids ready for school
  • Made the beds
  • Hoovered upstairs
  • Hoovered downstairs
  • Wiped and cleaned the sofas
  • Emptied the bins
  • Loaded and put the dishwasher on
  • Washed the pots
  • Cleaned the sideboards
  • Put two wash loads on
  • Hung the clothes out to dry on the line
  • Made a cake
  • Had a shower and washed my hair
  • Applied makeup
  • Straightened and styled hair
  • Written a blog post!

Life feels pretty good today, the sun is shining and I think I may just have time to catch up with the folks from ‘Down Under’ in Summer Bay before going to collect my Princess!

Ahh. What bliss. Some uninterrupted time to yourself. Hope you can make some time for things you want to do too (rather than what you feel you should do). Enjoy!

Wow! You had your morning nailed! My youngest is starting pre-school I January, I’m feeling mixed emotions about it. I am looking forward getting the boring chores done without someone wrapped around my leg though! I’m not sure if my mornings will be as productive as yours – but it gives me hope! I am finding that I can fit more and more into the three hours as time goes on. I miss my Princess terribly though 🙁

It’s surprising what you can do, in a short amount of time, if you sent your mind on it!
