Welcome to this week’s #MySundaySnapshot post, which is part of a snap-sharing-blog-linky series that you are very welcome to join. Click here for further information and guidelines upon this linky should you wish to take part.

And just like that, another year has flown by and it’s my final weekend as a forty-year-old. This time in a couple of days I’ll be ‘forty-something’ and will feel even older than I already do. I hate birthdays, well not other people’s but my own… I’ve never been the biggest fan of celebrating myself but especially so in the past few years with certain issues and occurences that have taken place. At least this year I’ll be distracted by work for the day and with a little luck I can keep my head down and get through the day without having to explore any emotions as such.
On a positive note, my brother-in-law and his lovely wife delivered these beautiful roses earlier this week along with a gift bag for when ‘the day I don’t wish to discuss’ arrives. Though I found it difficult having to acknowledge the event, I love roses (as they remind me of my late Grandma) and once put into a vase, they looked stunning placed on our kitchen table.
Thanks for reading my #MySundaySnapshot post, I look forward to catching up and sharing your #MySundaySnapshot pictures either through your own posts, social media shares or comments upon this post.

So sorry to hear you don’t like your own birthday. I hope the day isn’t too bad for you!
Forty-something is just a number! You’re still fabulous. Those roses are gorgeous.
I take it you liked my Cucumbers then. Why is it that reaching 40 is an age we dread, your still young so enjoy it. You wait till you get to my age, I hit 73 next month and don’t dread my birthday, I tend to look forward to it, not so much for the presents or cards (I don’t get many ) but for the Cake, you got to have Cake
Happy the day that won’t be mentioned! Whatever else, those gorgeous roses are good reason to acknowledge it at least a little bit. 😀
Beautiful flowers! And happy birthday. Forty is still a baby! Wait a decade and suddenly you are the oldest person in the place, and def the oldest person on the dance floor – and people come and tell you that! ha!
