I’m not sure about you but I’m exhausted already and it’s only been a week or so since we returned to our regular routine of school, work, and the usual after-school clubs and classes. How I’m going to make it through till mid-October I’m not entirely sure.
I’m not sure whether it’s the lack of sleep, the early mornings, or just the general stress of life but I feel rather prickly at present. I lack energy, I lack patience and as a result, I feel very much like this cacti arrangement that my husband very kindly gave to me for my birthday this year. Whilst cacti are incredibly pretty to look at, they are hard-wearing, easy to care for plants that require little amounts of water and not all that much attention and they don’t half sting if you happen to brush them up the wrong way… I can completely relate!

The cacti look lovely, but sorry to hear that the return to routine has left you feeling out of sorts.
I was like that for many years, but my life has got much easier now my son drives himself to school and back every day, as well as most of his after-school activities. It just means I’m without a car in the daytime, but I only really needed it to take him to school anyway!
I managed to kill off all my cacti! Probably over watered them. Sorry you are feeling prickly though, I’m sure things will get better as you settle into a routine. I’m surrounded by prickly people so I stay calm…just a pity overwatering doesn’t work on them!
