#TheOrdinaryMoments – House Trap

I don’t know about you but after twenty-something weeks of living in lockdown, it’s beginning to feel much-like Groundhog day. Each morning we seem to wake a little later than we should, the kids have a bit of tech time whilst I clean and tidy around the house, and soon enough it’s dinner time and half the day has gone by.

We spend our afternoons baking, drawing, colouring, crafting, or playing board games together before the kids find fun out in the garden or in their bedrooms by playing with various toys and games whilst Paul and I catch up over a coffee.

#TheOrdinaryMoments - House Trap

I see pictures of my friends and their families having fun out and about with their children and whilst I’d love nothing more than to take the kids out to somewhere special for a day, I just can’t risk it at present – especially not with my Dad being so susceptible to infection with his chemotherapy treatment.

I feel guilty for keeping my kids trapped in the confines of our house, though they have a lovely garden to play in only it seems to be permanently pouring it down of late, leaving us with even fewer options! It’s hardly the summer holiday that the kids nor I had wished for, I only hope it improves somehow.

Nevermind Scrabble, Cluedo, Monopoly, Pictionary, Jenga or Connect Four- each day we continue to spin around our very own cheese wheel, this ain’t Mouse Trap, it’s HOUSE TRAP!

Thanks for reading. I look forward to catching up with your #TheOrdinaryMoments posts either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

I can so relate, we have barely left the house. The kids don’t seem too bothered, but with the holidays here and shielding over, then we will be venturing out more, and it feels so strange just to think about it. I thought the days would go slower with not going out, but I agree, they seem to be flying by. Take care, and best wishes for your Dad xx

Aside from our holiday last week we are still mostly staying at home. We’re sticking to ticketed, easily distanced days out once a week x
