The kids have missed out on so much already this year, thus there was absolutely no chance that I was letting them skip out on bonfire night. We may no longer be all that popular with the neighbours (not that we ever were mind) but the kids at least got to enjoy a couple of fireworks and three or four packets of sparklers by the bonfire.
Sadly or perhaps a little stupidly, we’ve held onto the majority of the bigger fireworks as we didn’t wish to over-upset anyone in our neighbourhood but in all honesty, I wish we’d just gone ahead and lit the lot now!
The kids had such a lovely time twirling and whirling their sparklers whilst keeping warm by the fire as the Rice Krispie crew snap, crackled and popped in the sky above. It was so lovely to see the kids enjoying a little slice of ‘normality’, a basic fundamental which seems so scarce at present.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to catching up with your #TheOrdinaryMoments posts either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

I’m glad you managed to have some fun with your fireworks. I’ve never been a fan of fireworks at home but we went to a friend’s house last year and they had fireworks in the garden. The kids were so excited they loved every moment. It might not be what I call fun but to see the kids so happy and make some memories was worth it.
I love fireworks – always have done 🙂
It looks like they had such a great time! x
They sure did x
