We may be living in lockdown and unable to spend time with our family and friends but thank’s to the power of technology, we’re still more than able to send our best wishes and express our love to our nearest and dearest. So I thought I’d take this chance to wish you all the very best valentines day – I do hope that you are able to spend the day with someone special.
I was spoilt this morning as I was woken to breakfast in bed which was served on a brand new, wooden tray that had hearts cut from the handles, and upon said tray was a beautiful card, a large cup of Ovaltine (my daily drink) and a couple of slices of buttery toast.
We’ve decorated the living room with red heart balloons and paper heart bunting to keep us cheery during what seems like a rather difficult and dark time. It might be a little tacky but I couldn’t care less as it’s kept us smiling and the balloons were an endless source of fun for the kids – who’d have guessed that a simple bag of balloons could have kept the kids entertained for so long?
On that note, I’m off to get ready for a meal out at my Mum’s – nothing romantic, just dinner for five followed by some board games, as usual on a Sunday.
Happy Valentines Day all!
