We are now back from the city after an amazing weekend in London. We somehow seemed to fit all of the activities planned and more into just two days which is no mean feat for a family of four.
I am so very proud of the kids for coping with the journey, it was an incredibly long drive and they both behaved impeccably, especially considering that we spent almost two hours sat stationary in traffic. I will be sure to purchase an IPad headrest holder for the next time we plan to travel so far, there is only so long I can lean against an IPad case without getting a sore neck!
We managed to visit most of the major London landmarks and the children really seemed to enjoy soaking up the sights of the city. We also managed to visit both The Natural History Museum and The Science Museum which was fairly good going I think. The kids seemed to favour Hamley’s Toy Store which was our first port of call upon arriving in London, we actually ended up visiting the store twice in total over the weekend.
We were all completely exhausted after traipsing around each day, whilst we used the Tubes as our main method of transport we also did a lot of walking. The kids certainly seemed to sleep of a night-time during our visit that’s for sure!
However, the highlight of the weekend was most certainly meeting my beautiful nephew. I had been so looking forward to being able to share some cuddles with the little man, it was wonderful to finally make this a reality. I cannot wait to see him again, he was adorable. I just wish we were all closer in distance and able to see each other more often.
Paul and I have spent today conquering the mountain of washing, drying and ironing following our weekend away, restocking with a light shop and catching up with the housework.  We love having time away but I for one love being back in my house with my home comforts apart from the endless builders dust and clutter of course. It’s always lovely to get home after time away, all apart from playing catch up that is!

I love London So much, I’m not sure I’d want to live there and it’s best viewed from high where it looks beautiful and calm and the people are like ants #tuesdaytreasures
I don’t know if I could live there either.
It’s nice to go away but it’s always lovely to come home again. We drove to London a couple of years ago minus the kids I really enjoyed it. #TuesdayTreasures
Being sat in traffic is the worst – especially when your legs start aching from hovering over the clutch!
Really glad you had a great time though. I totally know what it’s like to have family living far away – my Dad, half brother and half sister live in Dubai, and I only get to see them once a year.
We are thinking about flying out in January though for my Dad’s birthday! But I don’t really like flying .. we’ll see how we do! Haha!

If only teleportation was real.
It’s great to read that you had a brilliant time in London and got to see your family members. My nephew is in Holland!#TuesdayTreasures
