Talk about rainy day activities, we’ve done nothing but this week… we’ve played games, read books, baked cookies, coloured pictures, built Lego models, pieced together puzzles and painted all sorts of stuff.
E has been after painting her unicorn model since she was given it back at Christmas and why not with the weather as it has been?
This little lady has such a steady hand and concentrates so deeply whilst painting. It certainly kept her quiet for a fair few hours and isn’t entirely finished yet!
E often reminds me of the Barbie doll from the backpack in Toy Story 2 as she too wants to be an artist when she is older. I often find random smears of paint or felt tip on random body parts and can’t help but to smile as I sponge my little lady and her clothes clean.
E isn’t alone in her love for art as both J and Paul also love to draw. The boys are both massively talented in Art, Paul even has his own website dedicated to the cartoons and comics that he creates.
Back in the day I myself quite fancied being an artist, a graphic artist to be precise. It never really worked out as I wished but I still dabble with digital art now and then.
With so much going on at present, I’ve been feeling a tad overwhelmed. Thus I’ve been sure to take the odd break by writing, drawing, doing a puzzle, painting, planning kitchen ideas or just sitting in the quiet.I spent an hour or two this week re-working my current blog logo using my latest gadget – a digital drawing tablet – and whilst it’s not picture-perfect, it’s far better than my previous attempt!
Whatever the weather brings, we’re always art-ready with drawers full of paper and shelves covered in pots of pencils, colouring-pencils, paint brushes, sculpting tools and such-like.
Art is a hugely important part of our lives, given that our entire household is arty we can never proclaim boredom as there is always something to draw, design, paint or put together.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to catching up with your #TheOrdinaryMoments posts either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

We love going to ceramic places too. They are great fun and I enjoy painting as much as the kids do xx

Thanks x she’s a star!
I can’t wait until my little man is ready to become an artist! So far we are only at the stage of painted hand and footprints but this all looks so much fun.
