#TheOrdinaryMoments – Far From Ordinary

I’m trying my very best to keep everything ‘ordinary’ at present, yet in no way does anything feel ‘normal’ nor ordinary at all.

This girl and her furry friend (pictured below) along with her beautiful brother and my hero-husband are my ‘norm’, though they all far from ordinary and I love them all the more for being so unique.

It’s been such a difficult few weeks not just with one thing but almost everything feels as if it is rapidly falling apart. Thankfully I have Paul and the kids who are pulling me through with all their might and I really don’t know what I’d do without them.…

#TheOrdinaryMoments – The House Of Art

Talk about rainy day activities, we’ve done nothing but this week… we’ve played games, read books, baked cookies, coloured pictures, built Lego models, pieced together puzzles and painted all sorts of stuff.

E has been after painting her unicorn model since she was given it back at Christmas and why not with the weather as it has been?

This little lady has such a steady hand and concentrates so deeply whilst painting. It certainly kept her quiet for a fair few hours and isn’t entirely finished yet!

E often reminds me of the Barbie doll from the backpack in Toy Story 2 as she too wants to be an artist when she is older.…

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Decorating The Dining Room

Whilst we’d love to rip out our entire kitchen and start from scratch, I very much doubt that we’ll be able to afford to do so for some time.

We’ve had plans drawn up, we’ve chosen utilities and I’ve got all sorts of ideas for our ‘dream kitchen’ but I’ve accepted that for now, it just ain’t going to happen… However, the walls were crying out for a lick of paint thus Paul and I went shopping earlier today and after much deliberation over which shade of grey we should go for, our son solved the issue by selecting a sage-grey-green shade of paint.…

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Happy Four Year Blogversary

Apologies for the late post but for one reason or another, things aren’t quite as they should be at present thus my blog may be a little quieter for the short term.

Today just so happens to be my ‘fourth blog birthday’! It doesn’t really feel like four years since I first created this here blog and wrote my first post – time flies I guess!

I’ve really enjoyed writing, editing and creating posts over the past four years, it’s been a great way in which to document and record memories of Motherhood. Though, with the kids getting older, I tend not to share quite as much online (although they assure me that they don’t mind) as their privacy is important. …

#TheOrdinaryMoments – A Wasted Weekend

Apologies for the backdated post – I was intending to write this post yesterday (as dated) but I spent the entirety of my weekend bed-bound with what I first assumed to be a nasty cold but soon realised was fully-fledged flu.

Talk about feeling like a wet rag, I literally flopped on my bed and other than reaching for a drink, the thermometer, painkillers or a bucket I was no use to anyone.

After almost two days under a duvet, I finally got up, had a wash and got myself dressed. Though, by the time that I’d slapped on some foundation and had wobbled my way daintily down the stairs, I felt as if I’d run a marathon!…
