#TheOrdinaryMoments – Unpack & Play

Every now and then we are sent products to review; usually toys, games and such-like for the kids, which they love to open and to share their thoughts upon – what kid wouldn’t? Whilst this photo will be used as part of an upcoming review, I thought I’d share it as part of the ‘ordinary moments’ series, as this has become something which they have grown used to over the years, yet something they still get incredibly excited about each and every time we receive a package to put to the test… My kids are experts in unboxing and package… View Post

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Rest, Reflect & Recharge

How is it that weekends go by in the blink of an eye? Two days simply just aren’t enough! Whilst I was lucky to be left to laze in bed for an extra few hours yesterday, it didn’t seem to make a jot of difference, as I still feel completely and utterly exhausted no matter how much rest I seem to get. I really ought to get to bed earlier but I’m a night owl or perhaps a vampire, as I function far better in the darkness than the daylight. By the time that the kids have had their tea,… View Post

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Snoop Dog

I often wonder if our beloved basset hound Maisy is half-human as she is happiest whilst wearing clothes, which seems rather odd considering that she is a dog. We discovered Maisy’s love for clothing during Halloween, when she dressed up in a witches outfit. Maisy didn’t seem to mind being dressed up at all, although once we had finished our trick or treating she was rather reluctant to have the clothing removed. She is forever raiding the washing basket, carrying our clothes to her bed and laying upon them, often wriggling herself into the odd shirt or jacket. Bassets’ are… View Post

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Our Little Ladies First Swimming Lesson

We’ve been meaning to take E to swimming lessons for over a year now but sadly our local pool was demolished and we were left quite literally high and dry. Whilst we regularly take both J & E swimming at the leisure centre (which is a fifty-minute drive away!) it isn’t quite the same as lessons. Having phoned around a range of leisure centres and private pools, I found a range of slots were available for swimming lessons but none of which were at a time that we could attend. Last week however, I found that the Nuffield Health Centre… View Post

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Happy Half Term

Half term has officially come to an end and we were sure to bring it to a close with a bang! Earlier this afternoon we took the kids along to ‘Wacky World’, a travelling inflatable obstacle course akin to Ninja Warrior. Both the kids and us adults had an amazing afternoon, although we were utterly exhausted by the time that we had finished bouncing, running, climbing and generally working up a sweat. Paul and I may have taken the gladiator style challenges a little too seriously, it very quickly became a brawl rather than a battle! J had an absolute… View Post
