Having enjoyed a bit of a lay in bed this morning, I felt the need to make up for my extra ‘mattress time’ by getting a few jobs around the house done and quite literally dusted…
Whilst Paul and E were out at swimming lessons, I busied myself with sifting and sorting through three months worth of paperwork. I’m proud to report that the filing cabinet is now in perfect order and all remaining rubbish was thrown into the burny-bin, which was lit earlier this afternoon.
I then cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed downstairs and even managed to complete putting together two family photo-calendars ready to be printed closer to Christmas or whenever Vistaprint lower their prices to an acceptable amount.
I’ve also filled envelopes with cash and consent forms for the kids, I’ve switched the gas and electricity supplier and I’ve finally canceled and switched our car insurance for the year which was a lengthy but worthwhile task.
I then sat with J to help him complete his spelling work before meeting up with Paul and E to visit our beautiful niece and nephew before they journeyed back ‘down south’. We then tootled to Tesco for a quick shop, where we somehow ended up buying bags of Christmas goodies which are now sat in my bedroom ready to wrap.
The kids have entertained each other with crafting, building dens (from my blankets and cushions which I’d neatly arranged earlier in the day) and laser guns. It’s lock’n’load in the living room at present and as I don’t fancy being shot I’m keeping clear of the chaos.
I’ve certainly been a busy bee but I don’t half feel better for ticking items off the task list. I’m well aware that Sunday is intended to be a day of rest but as there is ‘no rest for the wicked’ the rules don’t apply to me!
Thanks for reading. I look forward to catching up with your #TheOrdinaryMoments posts either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
