Given that we live almost fifty-minutes (in the car) away from our nearest shopping town, we tend to keep things local and to use the smaller (and unfortunately more expensive) shops to collect our food shopping and such-like from.
However, there’s some stuff we simply cannot get hold of, thus have to hop into the car and to make that journey… yesterday was one of those days. To make the journey worthwhile, we usually take the kids to the cinema, go swimming or take a walk through the park.
It may be pouring it down with rain at present, but yesterday the weather was glorious and the park seemed to be the obvious choice.
It was cram-jammed in the park and I’m pretty sure that there were more adults than kids enjoying the late September sunshine. We spent a good hour or two watching the kids burn off some beans on the swings, slides, climbing frames and such-like, they then opted for ice creams before heading home.
I usually hate having to truck all the way through to town, E isn’t the best traveler and I hate putting her through the tummy ache just to get the shopping. Although, with her travel bands and Jo Jo Sewa on full blast, E seems to be coping a lot better these days.
We only needed a few bits and bobs yesterday but with a walk in the park and ice creams on top, it turned out to be quite a nice trip out.
Thanks for reading. I look forward to catching up with your #TheOrdinaryMoments posts either through your own posts or comments upon this post.

That looks like a lovely quiet stroll. Such a beautiful place to visit too xx

This looks like a lovely trip. I think I would do the same and make the most of the shopping trip rather than JUST going shopping x
Exactly, I love taking time out from the chores x
