#TheOrdinaryMoments – A Poorly Prince

Well that was a waste of a weekend! Our little man hardly ever gets sick but during the early hours of Friday, he was struck down with a horrid stomach bug. This resulted in the poor mite plastering his high sleeper bed, his desk, (and his brand new laptop), the full length of the corridor, the top of the stairs, our bedroom and both bathrooms with vast amounts of vomit.

I’ve never seen so much sick if I’m honest and neither Paul nor I quite knew where to begin with the cleanup. It was quite literally up the walls!

I’ve never been so thankful to have a vax carpet cleaner in my life, let’s just say if it wasn’t for that magnificent machine, I suspect that we may have been ordering new carpets for almost the entirety of upstairs.

Paul very kindly dealt with the cleanup whilst I took care of my poorly prince. We were up pretty much all night long and whilst I’d hoped that was the end of it, he continued to struggle with sickness (and the other) until late on Saturday.

I hate taking time off, I always feel so guilty but given the circumstances, I had no other option. Not only was J spewing for England but E also complained of a stomach ache which thankfully remained just that…

It wasn’t until this morning that we actually left the house; Paul took E for her weekly swimming lesson whilst I took J to his Nana and Grandads for Sunday lunch which he barely touched due to a lack of appetite.

These things can’t be helped I guess, it’s certainly spurred us into giving the house a good scrub which is always a good thing. We are now fully stocked up with cleaning products, so much so that I could almost be mistaken for Mrs Hinch!

I feel as if the entire weekend has been a blur of bleach, dettol spray, and endless loads of laundry. Ho Hum – Here’s to a healthier, happier week ahead!
