Nothing beats spending time in the comfort of your own home. Don’t get me wrong, getting out and about can do wonders for the mind but after a busy day at work, a walk along the shore, a day or an evening out, a week abroad, or just a trip to the shops, ‘home’ will always be where you eventually return to.
I’m a big believer in the concept of ‘tidy house – tidy mind’ thus spend a lot of my time clearing and cleaning around the house. I find cleaning to be quite therapeutic, especially so once it’s all been done and I can relax in the comfort of a fresh-smelling, clean, tidy house. …
It’s been raining continuously for almost twenty-four hours now and as Id expected the roads were like rivers when E and I drove through to her swimming lesson earlier today.
E recently passed her stage two swimming certificate, she has now moved up to a more advanced class at a later time (bang on dinner time!) which began today.
Poor E was accustomed to being one of the strongest kids in her swimming class, whereas now she is one of the smallest, youngest and weakest swimmers in her class, though I’m sure it won’t be long before she finds her feet or should I say fins?…
Given that we live almost fifty-minutes (in the car) away from our nearest shopping town, we tend to keep things local and to use the smaller (and unfortunately more expensive) shops to collect our food shopping and such-like from.
However, there’s some stuff we simply cannot get hold of, thus have to hop into the car and to make that journey… yesterday was one of those days. To make the journey worthwhile, we usually take the kids to the cinema, go swimming or take a walk through the park.
It may be pouring it down with rain at present, but yesterday the weather was glorious and the park seemed to be the obvious choice.…
It’s been a while since the kids have been on their scooters and skates at the local roller disco. Now that we are back to school and routine has returned, we are back to our boots and scoots of a Friday evening.
E was given a brand, spanking new pink, light-up scooter for her birthday which she was delighted to take with her this week and once the lights are out, you can certainly see her coming now!
The kids tend to switch and swap between using their scooters, swing scooters, rollerblades, roller boots, and Healeys depending upon what they fancy riding at the time.…
There’s been very little time this week to sit down, never mind to sit down with my laptop and the time to write a post or two. Don’t get wrong, I like keeping busy – it keeps my mind occupied and active, which I find far healthier than the alternative.
I thought I was all ready for the kids to return to school, I’d got their shoes, their uniforms, their bags, and everything sorted as far as I was aware. As it turned out, I’d missed a few essentials from the list and have since had to carry out a last-minute run around collecting new trainers, new coats, new sports shirts, and yet more stationery.…
