#TheOrdinaryMoments – There Is Colour Amidst The Grey

I’ll be honest – things feel pretty grey right now. Despite the misery and the madness, there are the odd pops of colour and the little laughs which seem to save me from drowning in a pool of dismay. It’s the magic moments which lift me steadily back to the surface… colour can be found amidst the monotone.

If it wasn’t for my husband and my kids, I’m not sure how I’d be fettling right about now. It’s all too much, too little and too late…

I’m trying my hardest – I’m determined to keep up the fight and to do my very best during these tricky and tough times.…

#TheOrdinaryMoments – The Grand Easter Egg Hunt

The Easter Bunny came to visit our house last night; he very kindly left us a map, countless clues, and hoards of chocolate that the kids spent this morning collecting from in and around the house.

Having spent almost an hour runnings upstairs, downstairs, inside and outside (within the confines of the legal lockdown perimeters of course) the kids now have an extensive collection of eggs. There may be a shortage of bog roll and pasta but there are certainly no worries when it comes to chocolate!

As always, my husband went waaaaay over the top creating an elaborate map and clues for the annual Easter egg hunt, his efforts took him almost a week to complete and he continued putting together and polishing off his master plans until almost 2 am last night (or should I say this morning?).…

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Hama Bead Happiness

Earlier this week my daughter and I sat with the Hama beads and within an hour or two we’d put together this rather bright and beautiful star, which we then ironed to set. The shape, the patterns and the colours were all chosen by E, she has such a keen eye for anything arty, bless her.

We got a large tub of Hama beads for the kids maybe four or five years ago which has lasted us until now, thus I’ve since ordered further Hama beads (and moulds) which I am sure that the kids will make use of, especially during the current lockdown.…

#TheOrdinaryMoments – The Light Seers Tarot

I’m not sure whether I am suffering from a severe case of cabin fever or whether I’m just finding myself all over again. Either way, I’ve recently returned to my roots and have relit my love and devotion for divination.

I’m currently in the process of collecting a number of new tarot and oracle decks, one of which arrived earlier today and I have already fallen head over heels in love with.

Designed by Chris Anne, The Light Seers Tarot is one of the most beautiful decks I have ever come across. Although, saying that, there are still other decks (including Danielle Noel’s ‘Star Child Tarot’) to arrive and to add to my collection. …

#TheOrdinaryMoments – Mother’s Day Pandemics & Predictions

Well, that was officially one of the strangest Mother’s Days I have ever had. Don’t get me wrong, it was enjoyable and as always, I was spoilt rotten by my kids (with a little help from my husband) with cards and presents. However, I rather missed seeing and passing on presents and cards to our own parents, though this is simply not possible at present due to the covid 19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

Although I’m quite a happy hermit and am very comfortable when at home, confinement due to coronavirus isn’t ideal. Don’t fret, I’m not ignorant nor stupid thus plan to stick to our solitude by staying inside, staying safe and ensuring that we follow all government guidance given.…
