I often wonder if our beloved basset hound Maisy is half-human as she is happiest whilst wearing clothes, which seems rather odd considering that she is a dog.
We discovered Maisy’s love for clothing during Halloween, when she dressed up in a witches outfit. Maisy didn’t seem to mind being dressed up at all, although once we had finished our trick or treating she was rather reluctant to have the clothing removed.
She is forever raiding the washing basket, carrying our clothes to her bed and laying upon them, often wriggling herself into the odd shirt or jacket. Bassets’ are certainly a bizarre breed of dog, they are far from ‘normal’!…
We’ve been meaning to take E to swimming lessons for over a year now but sadly our local pool was demolished and we were left quite literally high and dry. Whilst we regularly take both J & E swimming at the leisure centre (which is a fifty-minute drive away!) it isn’t quite the same as lessons.
Having phoned around a range of leisure centres and private pools, I found a range of slots were available for swimming lessons but none of which were at a time that we could attend. Last week however, I found that the Nuffield Health Centre offered weekend-based swimming lessons and we were ever so lucky to ‘bag-see’ the last place.…
Half term has officially come to an end and we were sure to bring it to a close with a bang! Earlier this afternoon we took the kids along to ‘Wacky World’, a travelling inflatable obstacle course akin to Ninja Warrior.
Both the kids and us adults had an amazing afternoon, although we were utterly exhausted by the time that we had finished bouncing, running, climbing and generally working up a sweat. Paul and I may have taken the gladiator style challenges a little too seriously, it very quickly became a brawl rather than a battle!
J had an absolute ball!…
The kids adore their pooch, they would happily spend all day and all night playing with their beloved basset hound. Likewise, Maisy loves nothing more than being by the kids side, whether that be snoozing on the sofa, lazing in the living room or whilst dashing across the dunes.
J & E will often argue over who gets to hold Maisy’s lead, it’s such a sweet thing to squabble over as Maisy couldn’t care less – so long as she’s by their side she’s a happy hound!
With winter waning and the weather becoming a little warmer, beach walks are back on the agenda.…
It feels like forever since we’ve been to the flicks, it was therefore a welcome treat to watch a movie at the local cinema earlier this morning. The kids were both eager to see Lego Movie 2 which as it happens was fairly enjoyable.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind taking the kids to the cinema but HOW MUCH?! In total with tickets, food and drinks we managed to make our way through at least £40! It may have cost us an arm and a leg but the kids enjoyed every moment and that’s what it’s all about.
I must sound like such a whining, cheap-skate, I realise that trips out are an expensive affair but I was rather shocked and surprised by how steep a quick trip to the flicks was.…
