June has been an incredibly busy but brilliant month all in all. We’ve done so much over the past thirty days that it’s quite exhausting to look back upon. I swear as we get closer to the summer, each month just gets more and more manic! With just under four weeks until the summer holidays commence, the annual ‘end of term summer events’ are now well underway. Last week the children took part in ‘Sports Day’ and despite neither of them technically winning, they had a wonderful afternoon and in my eyes – they were both winners simply for taking part. Having been sent numerous alerts from the Met Office warning of thunder, lightning and heavy rain, I was pleasantly surprised to see the sunshine come out for the afternoon. Earlier this week the children had their school sports day, this was a first for our daughter E as she in the reception class. As expected, E did us proud as she didn’t seem to care for the competition and jumped for joy upon arrival at the finish line despite not coming in first place. I was half expecting a tantrum or tears at coming second, third or further down the line from first but E didn’t seem to care less and her enthusiasm and sheer pleasure in taking part was evident as she waved her arms at the finish …
