Having woken to a dusting of snow, the children couldn’t wait to get wrapped up warm and to head out to play in the white stuff. J was first out, pelting with me with snowballs from left, right and centre as I desperately tried to de-ice the car. He was super excited by the arrival of the snow, though disappointed that he was unable to head out sledging as school beckoned.
Thumbs Up For Snow
E meanwhile busied herself with making snow angels, whilst laying upon her freshly washed, pale pink jacket. I must remember to buy her darker coloured clothing once she has outgrown her current clobber. …
We haven’t had a decent snowfall since I was pregnant with E. Whilst E has seen snow, it has only ever been a few centimetres in depth and has never lasted for more than twenty-four hours.
This week I was half-hoping for a ‘snow day’, I say half-hoping as E had her school trip and I knew that she’d be heartbroken if it were to be cancelled. Sadly, the snow arrived but there simply wasn’t enough to warrant a snow-day (although much to E’s disappointment, the trip was postponed to stay on the safe side). Nevertheless, we made the most of the white stuff by taking a few pictures, making a few snow-angels and throwing the odd snowball.…
With January coming to a close, I have taken the time to reflect upon the past thirty-one days and to write down the highlights from month gone by. So without further ado, here are some of the things which I have #LikedandLoved during January.
We celebrated the New Year in style with family and friends who came to visit, those who were unable to join us (as they were on the other side of the Earth) we spent time video-chatting with and overall we had a fun-filled, festive start to the year.
Following what felt like quite a lengthy holiday, the children relished getting back into a routine.…

As always I will endeavour to share some of the many things which I have ‘Liked and Loved‘ throughout the past month.
Getting Back Into The Classroom
As you may have read in my previous instalment of ‘Liked and Loved’, I was recently offered a temporary ‘Teaching Assistant’ role which I have continued to carry out over the past few weeks. I have since gone on to apply for a contracted position which I was successful in attaining.…
It’s not just the kids that are flagging this evening, I myself am already exhausted and it’s only Monday! We really ought to get the kids and ourselves to bed a little earlier but by the time that we’ve got home from school, got changed, had snacks, completed homework tasks, made tea, washed the pots, vacuumed, tidied, folded and put the laundry away and have actually spent some time together as a family it’s usually heading towards 8pm.
Following that and whatever other random evening activities may take place, there’s also bath time, stories to be read and the whole bedtime routine to get through before Paul or I have the chance to jump in the shower or if we’re lucky the bath, after which there’s barely any time for anything else.…
