Talk about hot weather, it was absolutely SCORCHIO last week and despite having a full day of homeschool planned and at the ready, we decided to ditch studying in favour of some fun in the sun. It was so hot that despite having the pool, the parasol, and all the summer stuff out we could only bare to brave the heat for a couple of hours before coming in for some shade. To celebrate J’s eleventh birthday, the sunshine very kindly offered to make a guest appearance. We made the most of the good weather by blowing and filling up the paddling pool, slinging on the kids’ swimming gear, and turning up the tunes. Despite being in lockdown, J had a brilliant birthday and it was mostly due to the good weather as we were able to get out into the garden and to have fun in the sun.
