October has been a quiet month. We haven’t done a huge amount but given that we’ve spent the past two weeks recovering from the lurgy (covid), there’s not a lot that we were able to do other than to ride out the virus. Thankfully we’re all better now other than having such rattly chests that we sound like heavy smokers thus I’m hoping we can march on through till Christmas without having to raid the medicine cabinet. Despite enduring illness, here are some of our #LittleLoves from the past four weeks or so. Read Having finished and really enjoyed the last…

So here we are at the end of February already. Time seems to be slipping by like sand through my fingers of late but I guess that’s life, especially so when you’re a working and very busy parent. February may be a short month but blimey it was busy! Especially so for the kids with their studies, school, after-school clubs, activities, appointments, and suchlike. Thankfully we had the half-term holidays mid-month so we were able to switch off the alarm and relax for a few days. We ordered and received E’s new bedroom furniture, all of which arrived flat-packed and…
The kids are currently out at the cinema watching the latest Spiderman movie with their Dad, whilst I’ve spent the past few hours getting myself sorted for the week ahead. Whilst Paul, J and I return to school tomorrow, E is a lucky so and so as she has an extra day off before starting back for the spring term. She’s quite literally had an ‘all singing all…
One thing my children have always loved to do from an early age is to dress up, over the years they have collected an impressive stash of costumes, all of which are stored in a large, easy-to-access toy box. The kids are forever parading around as Pirates, Princesses and such-like. They love to roleplay whilst wearing their costumes, it’s quite amusing to sit and to listen to the things that they say, the way in which they adjust their voice and take on accents, they have such fun together! Having watched each and every one of the ‘The Pirates of…
Over the past term our son J has been studying Greek Mythology. To celebrate his learning, J and his class friends took part in a ‘Greek Day’, where each of the children were asked to bring along greek themed food to share with the class and dress up as either a greek god/ goddess or a greek myth. After spending almost three hours scouring the internet for greek god themed costumes, I found very little other than Julias Caesar outfits which weren’t entirely authentic but seemed to be the only option. As J and I had decided that he would…
