So here we are at the end of the half term – it doesn’t feel as if we’ve had a fortnight off probably because we we’ve been so blooming busy!
Over the past two weeks we’ve had some lovely days of out together as a family, we’ve hosted playdates, we’ve celebrated Paul’s birthday and we’ve attended an array of appointments all whilst keeping on top of the housework and sticking to some kind of routine.
J & E have entertained themselves with colouring, comic creation and crafts when we haven’t been busy running errands or out and about. They’ve finally reached an age where I could take a comic, a colouring pad and some pens and pencils along with us and it would be enough to keep them happy for an hour or so.…
My husband Paul is a keen artist, he uses a range of media to create cartoons which are based on our children. Paul is hugely talented in the Arts and can often be found sat sketching, colouring or tweaking images on his laptop.
Paul has sketch books full of ideas which he begins in pencil, he then moves on to using fine line pens and later transfers his work over to his laptop to colour, shade and add further details to.
It’s a fairly long process but he seems to really enjoy bringing the kids to life in comic format. You can take a peek at the full catalogue of Paul’s work over at his website at www.shorttoons.com

Welcome to another week of #MySundayPhoto. Firstly can I wish all the Fathers and Grandfathers a ‘Happy Fathers Day’. Secondly, may I apologise for my late entry to the #MySundayPhoto linky but I’ve been a little preoccupied with entertaining the children, this evening we have played over five games of Cadoo with the kids resulting in endless amounts of giggles and fun for all.
I love it when we get to sit down together as a family and just enjoy each others company, I think I may begin a ‘board game Sunday’ tradition to help us wind down and come together as a family at the end of each weekend.…
