Unboxing & Reviewing Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers

When it comes to play, our kids seem to be rather fixated by figures, we were therefore really pleased to be chosen to review the recently launched ‘Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers‘.

What exactly are Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers?

Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers are chunky, rather ugly little creatures which make noises when having their tongues pulled or upon impact. Packaged in a cardboard box which opens out into a scoreboard, Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers can be launched by pulling their tongue back and then flinging them like a rubber band. The aim of the game is simply to shoot for the highest score, building up points to compete against friends.

We received Guano, Pudge, Sizzle and Tenta as part of our ‘review package’, there are however twelve Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers to collect in total.

Upon arrival, the kids couldn’t wait to open and to play with their Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers, I was a little disappointed therefore when their responses weren’t entirely positive. I’m not keen on the concept of writing a bad review. However, I like to write honestly and whilst I try my hardest to find the positive in almost everything, I struggled when it came to these rather ugly and poorly crafted figures.

The kids very quickly lost interest in these figures, they found them over-ugly, lacking in features and movement, that and a little basic in design. The game was simply to throw what seemed to be a rather heavy, chunky figure towards a scoreboard and over time this would inevitably end in tears.

Pricing & Purchasing Information

There are twelve Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers to collect (each sold separately) retailing from £9.99 per figure. Crate Creatures Surprise Bashers can be purchased from a wide range of high-street and online stores including Amazon and Argos.

Our Final Thoughts

I’m sure that these toys may suit another, perhaps younger child but as they are said to be aimed towards children aged four-years and over (to avoid choking hazards for younger children) I’m not entirely sure whether I would recommend them at all, especially with such a high-end price tag for such a mediocre toy. Disclosure: We were sent the above products for the purpose of this post. However, all opinions are my own.
