Unwrapping & Revealing LOL Surprise Series 5 HairGoals, Fuzzy Pets & Lils

Being on trend my five-year-old daughter is a huge fan of the World popular ‘LOL Surprise’ figures and toy sets. Over the years we have collected a number of these plastic, fantastic figures most of which have arrived in multiple layers of packaging of some sort, much like the bundle which arrived earlier last week for us to review.

We were sent a number of recently released series 5 LOL Surprise goodies to unwrap and to review including ‘LOL Surprise HairGoals’, ‘LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets’ and ‘LOL Surprise Lils’, all of which went down like a storm with my little LOL doll diva.

As you can imagine, my daughter E was overjoyed at the idea of receiving a bundle of her beloved LOL Surprises to open, she could barely wait to unwrap the packages which made photographing and documenting the experience a rather rushed event.

LOL Surprise Hair Goals

E was sent two ‘LOL Surprise HairGoals’ toy sets to unwrap and to open, which she went about with some serious speed. There are apparently twelve different characters and sets to collect within the series 5 LOL HairGoals collection, each of which come with fifteen surprises, all of which are contained within a capsule which transforms into a salon chair, display case and purse.

Upon finally unwrapping and removing the main packaging, E revealed a further bundle of plastic to peel (as each and every element of the LOL Surprise HairGoals parts is wrapped individually in tiny, plastic bags). It was much like Christmas as E set about opening each and every part of the LOL Surprise HairGoals set.

After opening the many surprise bags, E found that each of the LOL Surprise HairGoals sets include:

E was delighted to receive both Splatters (from the art club) and Oops Baby (from the pop club). She then spent quite some time dressing each doll, attaching their accessories and combing through their hair. Each of the dolls can be fed or bathed in water to reveal further surprises – we found these surprises to be of the colour-changing variety!

Suitable for children aged six years and over, these dolls are quite large and chunky in comparison to some of the other LOL Surprise figures on the market. This seemed to please E as she now has yet more bodies, heads and outfits to swap around within her ever-growing LOL Surprise collection.

LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets

Included within the bundle which we were very kindly sent were two ‘LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets sets. These were particularly interesting for E as she doesn’t have many LOL Surprise animals as of yet. As E found the packaging particularly tricky to remove, I was asked to assist which gave me the chance to experience unwrapping also.

Once the main packaging had been opened, we found yet more mini surprise bags to open and one plastic pot which we contained colourful, kinetic sand, within which was a further hidden surprise.

Having opened each of the bags and boxes, we found that each LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets set includes:

• 1 x Pet Figure (which arrives furry!)

E opened Jivin Cat and Stage Owl, one of which was covered in blue fur, the other covered in black fur.

We soon learnt that whilst the LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets arrived coated in fur, when soaked in water this fur comes off, transforming the Fuzzy Pet into an alternative figure. E was particularly happy about this as it meant she was able to take part in some water play with her much-loved LOL Surprise figures.

Whilst not the biggest, nor the most expensive of the LOL Surprise figures available to purchase, I feel that these were probably E’s favourite purely due to the transformation aspect of the toy. Sadly this process can only be carried out once but it was certainly enough to excite and to entertain our little lady!

LOL Surprise Lils

E was super lucky to also receive two LOL Surprise Lils sets to unwrap and to open. She found these sets much easier to open than the others. Still, the plastic is quite tricky to peel despite the zipper guidelines printed onto the packaging. I would, therefore, suggest having a pair of scissors handy should you find yourself faced with similar LOL Surprise sets.

E opened and revealed both Lils Jet Set QT and Lils Fierce Meow, both of which she instantly adored. Whilst these figures are only small, they seem to bring a huge amount of happiness to our little lady.

The Most Popular Plastic Fantastic Figures In Town

As you are most likely well-aware, LOL Surprises don’t come cheap considering that they are mostly plastic. However, they are hugely popular with children and provide hours of entertainment and play.

Whilst I’m hugely concerned about the amount of plastic waste which is produced upon opening these products (as each and every element of the product is individually wrapped in plastic which creates a huge amount of waste) I do understand that children love the concept of opening, unboxing and unwrapping surprises – who doesn’t like unwrapping gifts?! I’d like to think though, that in the future alternative wrapping solutions (such as tissue paper or gift wrap perhaps) may be used.

Whilst I have my concerns regarding LOL Surprise figures and their packaging, I can see how popular they are with young children. Our daughter certainly enjoys playing with her LOL Surprise figures and given that her playing allows me a little peace and quiet, I cannot really complain!

Over the years our little lady has collected a number of LOL Surprise figures and has kept each and every one of their accessories, containers, collector guides and such-like in a large box which she opens and plays with almost every single day. I’m forever worried that E will lose a LOL Surprise accessory or two as they are so tiny and can often get lost in the carpet. I, therefore, suggest placing a large tray upon wherever your child plays with these figures and accessories to prevent such losses.

E treasures these tiny figures and their many accessories, they are one her favoured toys and therefore I can almost justify the price tag which is attached to LOL Surprises.

Pricing and Purchasing Information

Each of the products mentioned above (LOL Surprise HairGoals, LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets and LOL Surprise Lils) are available to purchase from a wide range of high-street and online stores including Argos.

The LOL Surprise HairGoals sets have a recommended retail price of £15.99 but are currently listed for only £11.99 at present (May 2019) through Argos. This is surprisingly cheap considering the previous amounts which I have spent on these much-loved figures.

The LOL Surprise Fuzzy Pets have a recommended retail price of £13.99 but are currently (May 2019) listed for only £9.99 with Argos also, whereas the LOL Surprise Lils retail at a recommended price of only £6.99!

To Summarise

Our daughter was delighted with the many LOL Surprise figures and sets which so kindly received. She has since spent hours sat in her room playing with said figures and requesting bowls of hot and cold water to experiment with the colour-changing aspect of these figures. Whilst the unwrapping is now over, she continues to enjoy playing with these figures on a daily basis and seems to find much joy in these cute, colourful figures.

I have no doubt that E will continue to collect yet more LOL Surprise figures over time, they are the first thing she will run to when we visit the shops and given their size, they are easy to carry around in my handbag to keep her entertained whilst out and about.

LOL Surprise figures and sets are hugely popular with young children and for good reason – kids love unwrapping presents and of course playing with their contents! Other than birthdays, Christmas and perhaps Easter (if their lucky) children very rarely get to unwrap gifts, therefore LOL Surprise is bound to tick their boxes and is certainly rated highly by my daughter E.
