As you already know I’m a bit of a OCD freak especially when it comes to cleaning the house. I have a daily routine which I try to get out of the way whilst E is at Nursery but as this isn’t always the case, there are times when the children are asked to be patient whilst Mummy here runs around trying to get things sorted and shiny-clean so that we can get on with our day.
E often tries to get involved with the cleaning but as she is still a little small to be pushing around a heavy hoover or sweating over a steam mop, I go for the safer option and usually hand her a damp cloth and ask her to wipe the surfaces instead.
The Casdon Hetty Mop & Bucket Set
We were recently sent the Casdon Hetty Mop & Bucket Set to review and share with my readers. This has since transformed our daily ‘clean up’ routine as E is now able to get fully involved and what better way to speed up getting things squeaky clean than to have a little helper?
This simple mop and bucket set arrives in seven pieces which can very quickly be put together to create an effective, useful children’s mop and bucket set.
- 2 x Stickers (one name sticker, one face sticker)
- 1 x Mop Bucket Lid (this simply clicks onto the bucket)
- 1 x Pink Bucket
- 1 x Mop Head (this screws onto the handle in the same fashion as a normal mop)
- 2 x Mop Handle Sections (these screw together to create a long handle ideal for little hands)
Getting Down And Dirty With Hetty
At first I was unsure as to how well the Hetty Mop and Bucket Set would fare when actually used with water given that its a children’s toy. I was pleased to find that the Hetty Mop and Bucket Set withstands both warm water and mild cleaning fluid (we used washing up liquid) and put to the test has maintained it’s quality despite being vigorously used by our daughter on a daily basis as we mop the floors together as a team.
Who knew my daughter would be so keen on helping out with the chores from such an early age? I for one am not complaining! To be honest she does a really good job with her little mop and bucket, it’s the ideal size for getting into those nooks and crannies that otherwise would end up missed.
Not only does she do a grand job but she also seems to really enjoy being actively involved in the daily clean up routine which has suddenly become a whole lot easier thanks to my little helper. E actually requests to play with her mop and bucket set each day now and I am finding myself leaving the floor unclean until she returns home from Nursery and is able to join in.
I cannot really class the Hetty Mop & Bucket set as a toy as realistically speaking this set is a domestic tool which enables children to take part in the daily grind.
Purchasing & Pricing Information
Being so impressed by this simple yet hugely effective product I have already recommended the Hetty Mop and Bucket set to friends and family who have enquired as to whether this set is available in other colours (which may be more suitable for boys). Having had a little look online I have found that indeed, Casdon have also created a Henry Mop & Bucket set ideal for children of either gender.
The Casdon Hetty Mop and Bucket Set (and also the Henry Mop & Bucket Set) are available from only £4.99 from a wide range of high street and online retailers including Amazon and Toys R Us.
A Shiny Clean Summary
As we all know, little ones love to copy their elders through role play such as doing the jobs around the house. This Hetty Mop & Bucket Set is the ideal toy and tool to enable little ones to become actively involved with adults in activities around the house.
Given that I have already recommended the Casdon Hetty Mop & Bucket Set to friends and family I would certainly recommend it to my readers especially considering that it’s a high quality toy which provides hours of fun for little ones and just happens to be priced incredibly fairly.
