It’s been quite some time since I’ve frequented a festival though it’s most definitely on my ‘to-do list’ for the future. Glastonbury is high on my bucket list but as a parent, it’s currently not a priority thus I’ll stick to staying clean, dry, and comfortable whilst watching the live shows from my living room for the foreseeable.
Though I’m not planning on partying in a field or Worthy Farm anytime soon, my husband and I often travel to various venues to watch a plethora of performers play live throughout the year. Whilst there, we often find ourselves weighed down carrying heavy plastic bags filled with drinks, snacks, and expensive merchandise. Bags for life may be sustainable to a point but they are hardly stylish nor correctly sized for such events. I’ve often wondered about taking a backpack to gigs but usually find myself with a dainty handbag simply to avoid security having to search through something akin to Mary Poppin’s luggage and holding up and frustrating all those waiting in line.
Though I’m well aware that paper bags are a thing, I’ve always seen them as a temporary option for carrying a few apples from the greengrocers. Up until late last week, I’d never before seen paper being used as a sturdy and stylish storage solution for the likes of a Festival but then I was contacted by the Paper Bag Co regarding their range of sustainable and stylish satchels for festivals and couldn’t resist taking a look for myself.

Festival and Music Waste Within The UK
It is estimated that within the UK, music festivals alone generate over 23,000 tonnes of waste each year and whilst there is usually an army of workers and volunteers brought in specifically to help clear up the aftermath, most of the waste ends up in a landfill.
In order to tackle this problem head-on, Paper Bag Co has designed a range of Leave No Trace festival rucksacks filled with essentials for festivals. These eco-friendly bags and their contents are manufactured using compostable, biodegradable materials.
