Being in my mid-thirties and having had two children, I don’t feel all that fabulous about my figure nor the fashion which I choose to wear. I tend to stick to casual, comfortable and floaty clothing which covers my wobbly bits though I highly suspect that my wardrobe contents are ‘out’ rather than ‘in’ when it comes to fashion.
I was recently asked whether I’d be willing to review a couple of items from ‘Fashion World’, a trading style from JD Williams, the UK’s leading direct home shopping company. Given that I haven’t the foggiest when it comes to fashion, I thought it best to give this a bash if anything to modernize my Mumsy look a little.
Keeping to my ‘fashion for a funeral style wardrobe’ I opted to try out a pair of beautiful black ‘Heather Platform Wide Fit Sandals’ and a black Joanna Hope Pleat Detail Cami Top.
Having received the above items I set about putting both the shoes and the top to the test for an evening ‘out-out‘ in town with my husband.
Joanna Hope Pleat Detail Cami Top
The top was absolutely beautiful, though the straps were a little lengthy and unfortunately lacked adjustability, thankfully though my Mother-in-law is a dab hand on the sewing machine and so altered the straps to fit.
Teaming this top with a pair of blue jegging jeans, I felt comfortable with my appearance. The pleating and style of this Joanna Hope top flattered my figure and I was given one or two compliments regarding this cami.
This is a quality piece of clothing which I will be sure to wear time and time again. I love this top as its a timeless, classy and flattering piece to wear for evenings out, parties and social events.
Priced at £30, the Joanna Hope Pleat Detail Cami Top is available to purchase directly from Fashion World in either black or navy from sizes 10-20.
Heather Platform Wide Fit Sandals
I love shoes, especially pretty platform shoes such as the ‘Heather Platform Wide Fit Sandals’. I couldn’t wait to wear these stylish shoes, they looked amazing especially with a pair of jeans and a nice top. Sadly though, looks aren’t everything…
Whilst the Heather Platform Sandals are said to be a wide fit, they didn’t feel all that wide when I forced my feet into them. The toes were a little too tapered for my liking and after an hour or so of wearing these shoes whilst walking around town my poor toes were blistered and bleeding.
I’d love to say that I’ll wear these shoes again sometime but I’m still suffering from sore feet having worn these for an hour or two over the weekend.
Priced at only £28, the Heather Wide-Fit Platform Sandals are available to purchase directly from Fashion World in either red, black or leopard print (should you fancy having funky feet!) in a range of sizes.
Dressed To Impress
I certainly felt ‘dressed to impress’ whilst wearing the Joanna Hope Pleated Cami and the Heather Wide-Fit Platform Sandals, I would suggest though that comfort certainly outweighs style when it comes to clothing. Whilst I adored the Joanna Hope top and will be looking to add further Joanna Hope items to my wardrobe in the future, my feet weren’t so impressed with the Heather Sandals.
Having spent some time browsing the Fashion World website, I was hugely impressed with the offers, the prices and the items available to purchase. I would definitely recommend this website for anyone like myself, wishing to fathom fashion and to update their wardrobe.
