There are some things in life that when put together, just make sense: Strawberries and chocolate, beef and mustard, steak and chips, gin and tonic, cheese and pineapple (yes pineapple does belong on a pizza), and cartomancy and confectionary – well why the heck not?! If there’s one thing I find harder to resist than a cute Tarot deck, it’s got to be cookies. Here in the UK, we refer to ‘cookies’ as biscuits, though it doesn’t have quite the same ring to it, especially when titling a Tarot deck.
Deckstiny recently sent me a number of their latest Tarot and divination decks including a copy of the super sweet, confectionary based Tarot deck, The Cookie Story Tarot.
Who Is Deckstiny?
Deckstiny, formerly named ‘Shuffle Tarot’ is a Thailand-based company that has created numerous popular Tarot and divination decks that are available to purchase Worldwide. The Cookie Story Tarot was created by author Look Daniel, co-author Mate Horonumber, and illustrator HBN.BOO, featuring artwork by Oomsin Phumphat.
All Wrapped Up
The Cookie Story Tarot is neatly packaged in a cute, pink cardboard tuck-box. Both the cards and the packaging are initially wrapped in a protective layer of cellophane and whilst I understand that this is to protect the cards, I personally feel that the plastic needs to be replaced with an environmentally friendly alternative.
Given that the Cookie Story Tarot is confectionary based, I’d love to suggest a future packaging modification or an optional extra of a physical tin in which to store this Tarot deck. After all, chocolates, candy, and cookies are usually sold and stored in tins and I just feel that swapping the tuck box for a tin would add an extra element of magic to this deck.
What, No Guidebook?
Though Deckstiny has included the odd guidebook with their decks from time to time, there aren’t many of their publications that have done so. The Cookie Story Tarot is one of Deckstiny’s many decks that comes without a guidebook.
The Cards
The Cookie Story Tarot is a standard-sized Tarot deck (measuring 70 x 120mm) printed on a luxurious 350 GSM art card stock card with matt protective coating. This delicious deck has the sweetest symmetrical pink card backs featuring cutesy confectionary-based imagery and the most phenomenal metallic pink edging.
The actual cards themselves are borderless with casual, plain white titling and numbering, and the matt print makes this deck super smooth, soft and easy to shuffle.
Certification Cards
The Cookie Story Tarot arrives with five additional cards: two art cards, a ‘Welcome to Cookie Land card’, a support card, and a certification card identifying the unique copy number of the deck (Deckstiny prints only a limited amount of each of their decks, and each particular deck is stamped and certified with a unique number).
The Cookie Story Tarot
First published in 2021, The Cookie Story Tarot is a seventy-nine card confectionary-based Tarot deck that features much-loved familiar children’s characters from various films and stories, alongside a range of candy, chocolates, cookies, and various confectionary.
The Cookie Story Tarot is a bright, bold, modern taken upon the traditional Tarot, using the traditional Rider-Waite-Smith setup, titling and figures.
The Major Arcana
The Cookie Story Tarot major arcana cards feature a range of unique confectionary-based characters. The artwork is bright, bold, and very busy offering a wide range to interpret and the cards are traditionally and clearly titled making for an easy read.
Deckstiny often includes bonus cards throughout their decks, including the Cookie Story Tarot where they have added a ‘Happy Squirrel’ card.
The Minor Arcana
The minor arcana within the Cookie Story Tarot uses the traditional RWS suits of Cups, Wands, Swords and Pentacles as well as the traditional court card figures (Pages, Knights, Queens, and Kings). The cards feature a range of cute, confectionary-cartoon-style characters and figures, many of which are recognisable as well-known children’s characters.

Reading and Working with The Cookie Story Tarot
Having spent the past fortnight working with the Cookie Story Tarot, my only piece of advice to those considering purchasing this deck would be never to read or work with these cards whilst feeling remotely hungry as you’ll be sure to be reaching for the biscuit barrel or cookie jar!
This is an incredibly colourful, super sweet, cutesy deck to work with and whilst it’s modern in design, it’s traditional in setup thus ideal for readers of all ages and abilities. Though the Cookie Story Tarot lacks a guidebook, I feel this would be a great deck for younger readers due to its bright, bold, cute, easy to interpret imagery.
The Cookie Story Tarot has been a joy to work and to read with, the cards are so cute and easy to read with, they feel super smooth to shuffle and the edging is simply divine!
Purchasing and Pricing Information
The Cookie Story Tarot is available to purchase online via Deckstiny’s Etsy Shop, where it is currently priced at £48.64, although postage and packaging will set you back a further £32.93 (taking the total of this deck to £81.57 which I understand is quite expensive for a Tarot deck but if you are willing to purchase a number of Deckstiny’s titles simultaneously then you may make an overall saving on the postage and packaging).
In Summary
With bright, bold, colourful, easy to interpret imagery, the Cookie Story Tarot is a great deck for readers of all ages and abilities. With its candy pink edging, the Cookie Story Tarot is akin to a delicious piece of candy waiting to be unwrapped. Whilst postage and packaging prices are a little steep for those of us in the UK, the Cookie Story Tarot has to be one of the cutest, sweetest decks I’ve ever had the pleasure to work with.

oh Wow! My teen has just become interested in Tarot Cards and I gave her my only deck (which is over 20 years old) to take a look at. She is a BIG fan of Cookie Run and would LOVE this deck. It’s a bit pricey though…she does have a birthday coming up soon so I may consider buying her one.
They are lovely !
