Disney has a lot to answer for as our daughter E is mad about anything mythical, whether it be fairies, unicorns or mermaids for that matter. E was therefore delighted to receive the ‘Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid Doll’ from Zapf Creation to rate and review for my readers.
The Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid Doll
Being the typical ‘girly girl’, E enjoys spending time playing with her dolls, especially those which have special tricks such as crying, babbling, urinating or even better, swimming! The Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid doll does precisely this which makes for the ideal bath toy.
I only wish I’d taken photographs of the packaging before E got her hands upon it, as she hugged it so tight that she created a dent in the box which I simply couldn’t bend back, my photos therefore do the packaging no justice whatsoever.
Whats Included?
Included as part of the Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid Doll is:
- 1 x Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid Doll
- 1 x Tiara
- 1 x Combe
The Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid doll requires 3 x AAA batteries which aren’t included within the set, but thankfully I had in the house. It is worth noting that the battery compartment needs to be shut securely to ensure it is kept watertight!
After unboxing the Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid, E very quickly made a pile of the accessories included and then set about combing and styling the dolls hair, all whilst getting herself undressed and ready for a bath which hadn’t even been run! E was so excited that she ran to the bathroom wearing just a pair of socks (which she had forgotten to remove in her haste to get into the bath).
Let’s Dunk The Doll!
Having eventually run the bath and plonked the Princess and her doll into the bubbles, she then set about dunking the doll under the water in an attempt to make her swim. As expected, the dolls mermaid fin began to wiggle giving the impression that the doll was in fact swimming.
Not only can this doll swim but she also has a fantastic head of hair with pretty purple streaks, which can be combed and styled (with the comb included) either in or out the water.
Suitable for children aged 36 months and over, the Baby Born Little Sister Doll is fairly chunky, (measuring 46cm in height) therefore ideal for little hands.
E had great fun with her Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid Doll, although I’ll be sure to pull the bath mat closer to the edge of the bath in future, as the amount of splashing which took place during the thirty-odd minutes of water play transformed our bathroom floor into what felt like an ice rink underfoot.
Our daughter is delighted with the doll and whilst it takes up a fair amount of space in our bathroom (which is where is now resides whilst drying off) I don’t mind at all as bath time, especially hair washing has become far easier with the distraction entertainment provided by this marvellous mermaid.

Our Final Thoughts
E has spent the past three evenings desperate to have a dip in the tub with her doll. I would certainly recommend the Baby Born Little Sister Mermaid Doll to my family, friends and readers – it went down swimmingly with our daughter and whatever brings a smile to her chops gets the thumbs up from me.
