Despite not being particularly football crazy, I couldn’t help but to get into the spirit and to support our country during the Euro 2020/21 matches. It’s not all about football, it’s about coming together during what has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone, it’s about the team spirit, the shared love and the shared vision.
For those of you who may have screamed at your screens last night as Rashford bounced the ball from the post, take a moment to think upon the fact that he’s only twenty-three years old yet he’s a superhero in his own right considering all that he has done and continues to do for our country. Rashford has spent his time, effort and energy earlier this year battling with our parliament against food poverty for OUR CHILDREN. Not only did Rashford raise over 20 million pounds towards food poverty but he also forced the hand of our gutless government to offer free school meals to those in need during the biggest crisis of our time.
I believed and despite the fact that we lost in the final to Italy, I still believe – I believe in the team spirit, the shared love, and most certainly the shared vision. I’m so very proud of our boys in white and red for all that they did and all that they do, not only did they make an incredible pledge to give their winnings towards our beautiful NHS but they’ve given us all HOPE during what has been one of the toughest times in our lifespan.
For me, it’ll always be ‘coming home’ forever and ever ‘our men’.
