May has certainly been the month for sunshine, we’ve spent the past few weeks literally baking in our back garden and I’ve enjoyed every moment of what I guess will be the British summer this year.
Along with the sunshine there’s been plenty of other thing to enjoy, I have listed a few of which in this months instalment of things which I have #LikedandLoved.
Yes To York
Earlier this month our beautiful boy, J went on a three-day residential to York with his class friends. Whilst I worried myself sick as to whether he’d eat, clean, sleep and generally get along I needn’t have stressed as he had a super time.…
It feels as if life has been on fast forward for the past fortnight, J was busy out and about with his class down in York the other week and whilst I haven’t had the chance to write about his residential I thought I’d take this opportunity to share a picture of our Prince outside York Minster.
J had an amazing few days touring York with his class friends, I on the other hand spent most of my time worried sick as to whether he’d eat, wash, sleep and all the other things which I needn’t have worried about whatsoever as he absoloutly fine!…
Most of my pictures tend to be taken at the beach, there is something rather free, easy and stressless about the shoreline. I’m often found sat by the shore taking some time out as I watch the seagulls fly by, and listen to the sound of the sea.
We’ve had the most wonderful weather of late, the heat has been immense, so much so that l’ve become a bit of a night owl if only to indulge in the cooler temperatures. There’s no better place to catch a breeze and to cool down than sat by the beach, five minutes kicked back whilst watching the World go by can make all the difference to a difficult day.…
It was J’s ninth birthday earlier this week, I cannot believe our boy is only one year away from double figures! He was spoilt rotten with gifts galore and celebrated with friends by having a pool party at the local leisure centre.
The Birthday Boy
Meanwhile our little lady seems to have it sorted when it comes to ‘dressing up’, as her costume collection seems to consist of almost every Disney Diva imaginable including an Elsa outfit which she has spent the past week waltzing about it whilst pulling random faces when a camera comes out.

I took a photo very similar to this last year at some point, I clearly remember glancing at the sunset in my mirror whilst taking a spin to the shore. There’s something about that glow, that warmth and that lighting on a summer’s evening which sends shivers up my spine. The smell of freshly cut grass, the distant hum of an ice cream van as it passes by – the sounds, smells, sights and sense of summer.
“When I’m searching for belief
Have to put myself at ease
Every time I’m on the run
Find me, summer sun
Find me, summer sun
Far away from home
The place where I belong
When I close my eyes
I start to realise
Hold my breath
Trying to forget
Feeling so strong
A new day has come
Summer sun, keep me warm
Northern right, come and dry my eyes
Find me summer sun
