Having enjoyed almost a week or more of continuous sunshine we were well overdue for a storm. The storm was said to arrive yesterday but despite the clouds looming ahead, the pitter patter of rain and the odd rumble of thunder there was very little to report.
Sadly the storm missed us by miles, the downpour may have watered the plants but otherwise it was a bit of a let down.
I love a good storm, especially if I’m sat watching from somewhere warm, cosy and comfortable as the sky becomes thick, clouded and angry, the faint rumbles of thunder in the distance followed by that electric flash.
I can almost sense when a storm nears by the atmospheric changes, the static in the air, that chalky smell, the cool breeze, the buzz that runs up my arm giving me goose-pimples, it’s electric and I flipping love it!
I have a bit of thing about electricity, I suffer terribly with static build up and as a result am usually unable to wear analog watches as I tend to kill the battery almost instantly due to the charge within my body. It’s rather peculiar and at times rather frustrating, especially whilst out shopping with your toddler randomly zapping both yourself and your child as you push a shopping trolley up and down a few aisles.
I guess you could say I’m electric…
She’s in a family full of eccentrics
She’s done things I never expected
And I need more time”
