We’ve officially reached the end of half term and as per usual I’ve managed to leave a few things to last-minute as there’s nothing quite like living on the seat of your pants for an adrenalin buzz.
Unlike most people who spent time designing and carving their pumpkins with their kids throughout the half term holidays, we held off until last-minute leaving it till earlier this evening, the idea being that our pumpkins will last a little longer and should still look half-decent come Halloween.
In past years I’ve always been super organised but recently I’ve let live with a less rigid routine which has resulted in me running around like a loon for the past two hours getting everything in order for the morning when the school routine returns. Meanwhile Paul kept the kids busy with the pumpkin palaver which was just as well as somehow E’s wardrobe had internally collapsed upon itself puking piles of her clothes all over the floor.
Paul very kindly put the hanger back into place and as I’m obviously unhinged I decided at this point that it would be wise to have a total wardrobe clear out because I obviously didn’t have enough to be getting on with. Not only did I find a few items of clothing which could be put away but I also made a rather large pile of books for my nephew as our kids have now outgrown Spot the Dog and other such wonders.
Meanwhile Paul completed carving the kids creations leaving a pile of pumpkin guts from which to make soup later in the day.Β I on the other hand continued my crazy-lady tidying quest and began piecing together my sons figures, further to this and in order to put my OCD at ease I found myself pulling out the sofa and the chair in the lounge to locate missing pieces.
What the hell is wrong with me?! It’s a Sunday evening, I’m completely exhausted and I should be kicked back relaxing in the tub with a glass of wine in hand not running around the house like a woman possessed.
Thankfully I saw sense and have left the vacuuming and mopping until tomorrow, once I’ve returned from my morning hair appointment that is! As for this eveningΒ or whats left of it at leastΒ I am about to run a bath, pour myself a glass of well-deserved Rose and slip into my jim jams for some serious down time.
Thanks for reading and as always I look forward to catching up with yourΒ #MySundayPhotoΒ pictures either through your own posts or comments upon this post.
