So it’s Sunday once again, yet another week has flown by and we have literally days left before my little man finishes his time at school as an ‘Infant’. I was warned by many of my family and friends that kids grow up quickly but I didn’t realise how right they were.
My little man is doing so well, he still has the occasional wobble every now and then and it’s during those times like this weekend in the midst of being assessed for his ‘yellow belt’ that I have to remind myself he is still only seven years old! It worries me that there is far too much pressure put onto our kids these days from such an early age, I want J to do well don’t get me wrong but I don’t want him to feel the weight of the World on his shoulders, I want him to enjoy his childhood!
Not only do I wish for him to succeed in life but I would like for J to feel confident and secure. This is the reasons why I first enrolled J in karate lessons, that and it was a family tradition with his Dad, Grandad and Uncle all being black belts. J has now attended karate lessons for almost two years now during which he has gained his yellow & white belt, orange & white belt and now his first full adult yellow belt. There are moments when J throws the odd paddy mainly when he loses faith in his own ability or finds something too difficult, he generally enjoys the lessons and has learnt so much from them, mainly that ‘practice makes perfect’ as the saying goes.
Here he is for #MySundayPhoto having just been awarded his yellow belt, certainly a proud moment for both J and I!
Happy Sunday Peeps, I hope that you have all had a fantastic weekend.

Awww how wonderful and well done! I used to do Taekwondo when I was younger and it was so much fun and I felt so proud after belt gradings
Awww such a lovely moment! Congrats on his new belt. And the words just resonated with me. I am also thinking if my son is doing so much activity lately. And this is what I am thinking the whole day too as I can see exhaustion in him. Thankfully its going to be summer vacation soon so we can think a lot and he can rest a lot too! #mysundayphoto
