The house is finally tidy, the school bags are packed, the children are tucked up in bed and I am finally able to sit down with the knowledge that come tomorrow routine will resume, order will return and I can finally make a dint in the workload that sits upon my desk awaiting my attention.
I have letters to write, papers to file, emails to send, phone calls to make, appointments to book, posts to read and reply to, posts to write, photos to transfer and sort into folders, photos to upload, videos to review, jobs to apply to and all kinds of crap that I know will take serious time and effort neither of which I currently have a great amount of.
Just for now though it’s still Sunday and as it’s the weekend the jobs can wait! It’s time to kick back, to relax and to have one for the road because if I’ve learnt anything during my journey over the past few months it’s to stop worrying about the crap you should be doing, life is what it is and we should enjoy every moment as if it were our last.
We spend far too much time worrying about things which don’t really matter in the grand scheme of things. I spend far too much time worrying about things which don’t really matter and I need to let lose a little and live for the moment.
Life is like a road, there’s ups, there’s downs, theres the odd **** we swerve to avoid, should we be paying attention theres signposts dotted here and there, theres the scenery to admire along the way and the memories to be made whilst behind the wheel. Just like a road though, we never really know what’s around the corner…
One For The Road
