The smells of freshly cut grass and distant BBQ smoke wafted in the air as I knelt upon my in-laws garden, camera in my hand snapping photos of the flowers whilst bathing in the mid-afternoon sun. The kids were busy happily running amuck along the lawn as the dog dawdled happily behind them sniffing each and every plant pot as she went by.
A sense of tranquility and peace washed over me as I slipped off my shoes and ran my toes through the grass. It may have only been for half an hour but they were thirty much-needed minutes which somehow set my mood for the evening ahead. I felt refreshed, relaxed, bright and sparkly much like this weeks picture.
The brash shades of pink, purple and blue against the leopard skin like spots make foxgloves incredibly attractive yet beautiful as they may be, foxgloves are well-known to be poisonous, toxic plants which cause harm to both animals and humans. It seems a crying shame that such stunning flowers should pose such danger. I guess just as nature mirrors life we too regularly encounter appealing and attractive things which could potentially cause great peril.
I may be a ‘indoors girl’ most of the time but I must admit that getting out even if it’s only for a short time seems to do me the World of good, I must do it more often.

I absolutely love foxgloves but just daren’t have them in the garden with the kids. I also feel much better when I get outside, if even for a short time. I’ve been making the most of the long evenings and potter around in my garden for the last hour or so before the night draws in. Its so peaceful! x
Yep me too x
They are so beautiful though aren’t they? Our neighbour has some and the bees love them too! Lovely shot! #mysundayphoto

Oh gosh what a beautiful photo you have here, I live fox gloves despite a lot of people disliking them for whatever reason I think they’re so pretty x
