I’ve never really been a morning person that said I bleeping love watching the sunrise although barely ever see it as I’m too busy observing the back of my eyelids. For that reason I prefer to watch the sunset; the colours, the shades, the cloud formations and the overall atmosphere as the sun gently dips beyond the horizon.
I’m incredibly lucky to live somewhere which I am surrounded by stunning scenery, no matter how bad things may seem, how low I may feel, scenes such as this send my spirits soaring. That and my thoughts reeling as my mind works on overdrive as I look into the distance taking time to process the day gone by.
Like watching the flames of a fire dance to the rhythm of your mind, a sunset can be rather cathartic, much like an oil painting as the colour, contrast and layers coexist to create a stunning scene such as the one I shot earlier tonight.
“Purple sunset, orange moon
I’m alone again without you
I knew someone had to lose
Go back to your separate life
That you have with her
Ashes blow in the windy sky
Take my heart as you go
Baby it burns, baby it burns, baby it burns
To be your fire on the side
Taste my tears
See how they burn
Baby it burns
To be your fire on the side”
