So without further ado, here are My Five Favourite Monthly Moments (#MFFMM) from June 2024:
London Baby
Earlier this month E and her class travelled down to London where they spent three days visiting various museums, watching a show, riding the London Eye, walking around the sights and perusing the shops throughout the city. It was a much-anticipated trip which E and her friends had been looking forward to all year. Needless to say, they had the best time!
Working 9-5
The kids aren’t half growing up quick, this became abundantly apparent when J spent a week carrying out his work experience in the local gift shop at the start of the month. It felt so bizarre to see my son wearing funky shirts and posh pants whilst serving customers, unpacking orders and completing an array of tasks. I was so proud of J, he worked his socks off and enjoyed every moment. He’s since started to consider options for the future and has even selected some courses that he’s interested in studying at the local Sixth Form.
Celebrating Success
The kids have really been blowing our socks off lately – E won not one but two Lighthouse Awards this month. My husband, Mum (in law), and I then went to watch her and her class participate in what was her very last Sports Day in primary school. E gave it her all and her team once again took the trophy putting a smile on all our faces. J meanwhile also had a Sports Day to compete in and a trip to the city where he carried out Geographical work for the day. He then brought home a fantastic school report and I’ve got to say I was beaming with pride.
Shoes Glorious Shoes
Following a serious wardrobe declutter and clean out, I’ve binned the majority of my old shoes and have since replaced my trainers and heels. E meanwhile has gained two brand new pairs of gorgeous goth boots ready for her to wear to her end-of-year disco and party. I do love bags and shoes as there’s no need to worry about your dress size, waistline or the diet you didn’t stick to…
Book Worm Babe
I’ve spent most of this month with my nose firmly wedged in a variety of books. Due to the sheer amount and cost of the books that I seemed to be getting through I opted to give my very old Kindle Paperwhite a new lease of life. Having established that it still charged, I gave it a clean, logged in and acquired a new cover which I then decorated and added a Mickey Mouse-style pop-socket to and I love the final result.
Thanks for reading My Five Favourite Monthly Moments; I look forward to reading and catching up on your #MFFMM posts and comments.
