Welcome to my recently launched linky – My Five Favourite Monthly Moments aka #MFFMM. This series will go live on the last day of each month and will celebrate five favourite moments from the month gone by. You are most welcome to participate either by submitting comments on these posts or by creating your own posts (on a blog, social media platform, or website) and then adding your link below.
So without any further, here are My Five Favourite Monthly Moments (#MFFMM) from February 2024:
Young Voices
After months of religiously rehearing a selection of songs, our beautiful little lady travelled down to Manchester AO Arena to perform as part of the Young Voices choir. This was an incredible event that spanned over a number nights touring in and around various stadiums throughout the UK involving over 26,000 children.
Whilst E was somewhat apprehensive about the idea of performing to an audience, she took to the mission like a duck to water and blew us all away with an incredible performance. Our little superstar spent the entirety of the day and evening smiling, dancing and singing her little heart out alongside her class friends and many other schools. Sadly, due to work commitments, I was unable to attend the concert but my husband was there to gee her on and to show his appreciation by waving his glowstick along with a group of other proud parents.
Certificates, Awards & Celebrations
February seems to have been E’s month as she’s blown our socks off with her recent successes. From singing in the country’s biggest choir to receiving a range of awards including ‘The Lighthouse Award’ (an award given to a select student each Friday), marvellous marble awards for excellent behaviour, Happy Minds awards, and not one but two reading awards. To say that I’m a proud parent is quite the understatement.
Nineteen Years Together & Valentine’s Day
As you may have read in my past posts, Paul and I don’t tend to celebrate Valentine’s on the 14th of February like most people. This is because our first-ever date was in fact on 13th February way back in 2005. Ever since then have opted to celebrate a day early by sharing cards, and gifts, and enjoying time together to mark the occasion. This year marked our nineteenth year of being together. Although we’d promised not to splash the cash on gifts this year, Paul quite obviously didn’t get the memo as he spoilt me with a bouquet of beautiful flowers and a multi-coloured rainbow-style rose. What a gem he is!
Manchester Shopping
We enjoyed a week away from our regular routine with the half-term holidays earlier this month. During that time we took the kids down to Manchester for a day’s shopping. Having trailed from the top to the bottom of Afflecks Palace we then hit Primark in style followed by a mooch around the Arndale Centre. As expected, we went home laden with shopping bags having shopped till we very almost dropped.
Nights ‘Out Out’
It’s not often that Paul and I get the chance to go ‘out out’ these days. This month, however, we enjoyed two nights out one after the other! Paul, the kids, and I were very kindly invited to one of our friend’s fiftieth birthday parties – it was a lovely evening with a beautiful buffet, good music and great company. The following day Paul and I drove up to Carlisle where we watched Scott Bennett, a talented comedian, do what he does best live on stage. Though we were a little tired come Monday morning, it was most definitely worth it.
Thanks for reading My Five Favourite Monthly Moments; I look forward to reading and catching up on your #MFFMM posts and comments.
