Welcome to my brand new linky – My Five Favourite Monthly Moments aka #MFFMM. This series will go live on the last day of each month and will celebrate five favourite moments from the month gone by. You are most welcome to participate either by submitting comments on these posts or by creating your own posts (on a blog, social media platform, or website) and then adding your link below.
So without further ado, here are My Five Favourite Monthly Moments (#MFFMM) from April 2024:
Birthday Celebrations
Paul turned the grand age of forty-one earlier this month. We celebrated with a Hell Divers II-themed two-tier chocolate cake and a day out at the local Clip ‘n’ Climb and Caving Centre. Though only J seemed able to cave (due to the rest of us suffering from severe claustrophobia), the kids and Paul had a blast climbing the various multi-coloured climbing walls. It felt good to get out and have fun as a family.
The Wedding
Paul and I were very kindly invited to attend a friend’s wedding as evening guests. Whilst I was somewhat anxious about going out, I dusted down a rather dated but much-loved dress, threw on my sandals and a couple of inches of makeup and found myself having fun for a few hours.
Fabulous Fascias
We’ve been intending to replace the fascia boards on the front of our house for quite a few years now. Whilst most of our neighbours have hired builders and such-like to carry out their fascia work, Paul decided to get ‘handy’ and with the help of his Dad had it done and dusted within a couple of days! I’m super-impressed with the result and cannot believe the savings that we’ve made due to Paul’s hard work.
Beach Walks
I’ve been trying my best to get out and about a little more of late. The weather seems to be improving slightly thus I recently donned my coat, shades, and Skechers and took a lovely long stroll along the shore. It felt really good to get some fresh air and to get myself out of ‘four wall syndrome’.
Sunshine Days
The sun has at last made an appearance and we are no longer confined to dashing home on rainy school runs. E and I decided to make the most of the ‘yellow thing in the sky’ and enjoyed an hour dusting off the cobwebs and playing in the park earlier this week. I’m hoping that the weather might cooperate and that we can do this more often.
Thanks for reading My Five Favourite Monthly Moments; I look forward to reading and catching up on your #MFFMM posts and comments.

Glad you had fun at the wedding! A much loved dress doesn’t matter if it’s dated….it’s the love of the dress and how you feel in it that matters! Off to google Fall wall syndrome. Glad you are getting out and about. We have 2 weeks of rain (we’re half way thru) to bring our vibe down…it’s freezing too!
Haha I need to edit my post – four wall syndrome lol
