After two days of consistent heavy snow, we found ourselves stranded in what was a winter wonderland. The kids were given an extended weekend of fun and games with their sleds, snowmen, and snowball fights as schools closed throughout the county. Many houses lost power during the ‘blizzard’ and were quite literally snowed in for days on end. Plows, tractors, JCBs, and gritters were sent around the area to dig out pathways and roads to enable access for the locals.
Almost a week later we’ve switched from snow to heavy rain, strong winds, and deep flooding … if it’s not one thing, then it’s another!

oh wow! I’ve not seen so much snow in a long time. We have had no extremes of weather here in the Midlands, no snow, storms or rain. It looks beautiful but it can be so disruptive.
Back in the winter of 1963 it was like that for weeks on end. I did not get to school fro two months and we had no internet then, not even a phone. It was Cold
